Topic: Dammit, where is a Norma Desmond Isotta-Fraschini theme?

Sunset Boulevard is one of the greatest noir films of all time. Hell, it's one of the greatest films of all time, period, and I've spent the last five years trying to get Eyesore to make their Miata into a credible Norma Desmond Isotta-Fraschini. They're whining about having kids and houses and jobs and all that stuff, so forget 'em— it's up to some other team to step up to Lemons Legend status and let Eyesore know they're has-beens who let the lady buy their vicuna coats. So, watch the movie, study the car, and make it happen! Great idea for your E30, hint hint.

Would have been a perfect use for the $500 Nash I picked up

You'd blow the budget on the canework. Might be easier to chop up a '46 Plymouth to resemble William Holden's convertible. "Chromium and Spit Racing Team" does have a nice ring to it... and you can see how well it handles:

If the Porcubimmers can make an E30 into a credible Homer, surely the same can be done with any car and an Isotta-Fraschini theme.

What'd you do with that? I've been looking for a really big pair of headlights.

Buddy of mine has it, I havent followed up on the project in awhile and know he's got many irons in the fire so it may be doing nothing at the moment.  I was sorely tempted to keep the headlights, those things are stupidly expensive and oh so very cool.

I almost bought that thing. Now I wish I had---it really would have been perfect.

That movie is worth watching for the I/F alone.  Phil speaks no lies, it really is a great piece of cinematography.

Why not the car from the opening of Touch of Evil? It's probably going to blow up on the track anyway.

Good Luck Everybody Else Racing. Yes, we have a fan page.

Why not the car from the opening of Touch of Evil?

Which one, the '56 Chrysler they drove or the '49 Olds they blew up as its stunt double?

I'm a big fan of movie cars. Someone needs to get a '68 Satellite and do Fee Waybill's car.

I think that is actually the groupie's car. But a Fee Waybill "Roadmap of My Tears" theme sounds vaguely car related.
