We tallied nearly 4500 votes--thanks to everyone who participated! The winning ten are:
1UP MOTHERCLUCKERS
A Nissan, Italian plumbers, and a flying princess: How can you go wrong?
THE CALI CAJUNS
A shockingly successful formula: One Saturn, No Whining.
ECURIE ECRAPPE
Why settle for the easy way when you can do it, uh, this way?
EVIL GENIUS RACING
A V8olvo and a 928 Shooting Brake--what else do you need?
FASTER FARMS
Big Plymouths, chicken suits, and bowling-ball-activated aero. Sweet.
METRO-GNOME
A superbike-powered Geo that storms to victory? Metro-sexy.
POLICE BRUTALITY
A Lincoln Mark VIII and a '61 Caddy: Sound like road-racers to me!
PORCUBIMMER
Apparently well-liked, especially for a bunch of pricks.
SAABS GONE WILD
Everyone's heard the "Saab Story" pun. But no one's seen it taken this far.
THE SHARKS
Just when you thought it was safe to come within 100 feet of these freaks.
These ten will join the six already selected by LeMons officials--if your team didn't make the cut this time, another induction ceremony will be held at the end of 2010. (In other words, between now and then, you'd better beef up that Star Trek theme with a Wag-O-Van-based Shuttlecraft Galileo.)
Cheers--Nick

I'd nominate Chard Beef Racing. They did five engine changes in two races!

I'll second that. Their jambalaya and rusty stripper poles can never be outdone. I have some pics if needed.

MetroGnomes for pioneering the "WTF is that?" swap

Can't describe how honored I am. I got emotional upon reading the email.
Couple of nominations (in no particular order):
MetroGnomes: Overall win in their rookie race, blazing the trail of motorcycle/automotive cross-breeding, and most of all for using "It's a Geo" as a launchpad for greatness rather than an excuse for sucking.
Black Iron Racing: One of the most trophied (is that a word?) teams in Lemons history with an Overall win, People's Choice, People's Curse, Heroic Fix and Most Likely to Leave in an Ambulance, also pissing off the more BMW purists than any other team via their obsession with the holy Sawzall.
Cali Cajuns (Speed Racer/Mach 5): They have a car for each coast. F-ing A, that's dedication. On top of that, they race hard and race well with more top 10 finishes than any of the rest of us in 2009.
The Express Team (PMS, Pony, Bi-Polar): This team always builds a great parade float and shows up with a positive attitude. Plus, they hand out candy.

this
and they were willing to help my team when we broke down during the race - offered to get us a tranny that they had after ours was failing in '08 (wouldn't fit, but was great to offer) and offered other odds and ends in '09 when we were having trouble, which was the same time as they were hurting

another vote for MetroGnomes.
this email made my day. very cool to be part of the Original Six. thanks, lemons leader dudes!

Wow, can't believe Team Police Brutality didn't make the cut. Four races our first year, a top ten and a least horrible yank tank in a Lincoln (replete with custom body and SWAT roof gunner), and then the infamous '61 Caddy show.
No love? Damn, that's cold...

You didn't make the first cut, but someone out there likes you. You've already been nominated for the Saturday vote.
And, as a quick note to ballot-box stuffers--it's best not to use a cut-and-pasted block of text, and it's especially important not to use the new team name you'll be using for the next race (after all, how would the public know about your new team name yet?). Just a helpful hint (for Troy).

We haven't voted yet. Maybe somebody does love us after all. ![]()

Great to be on the Wall of Blame, cheers etc.
That car went through the hell of all (save the first) Altamont races and was thoroughly bent, folded, spindled and mutilated by those other cars large and small.
From the bent rear beam axle (which is HARD to do on these things) to the crank print in the oil pan thanks to one of the tractor tires, it gave its all for the team.
Though many of its parts live on in the second '87 Cavalier Wagon.
The red car will be holding up the honor of the FWD GM 60* V6 at Sears Point. Hopefully the new water pump and machined-shorter axle shaft will let us do well.

Agree completely. Thrilled to be in the initial group, and it made me remember the first time I saw the Craptation and thought "What a f'ing POS---perfect!"
I think the Turbo Schnitzel (sp?) guys should be nominated! Loved their spirit, costumes and competitiveness.

We are truely honored to be among the inital 6 to enter the HOB. I keep on thinking about building a new car but their is something cool about still being able to run a car that ran at the Altamont Demo Derby races. If you look at the picture and see the giant dent in the rear door that was done by a 75 Ranchero at our first Altamont race at about 45 MPH. The driver still has a stiff neck from the hit but the car keeps on chugging.
On the nomination front I vote for our fellow Mopar - Faster Farms Belvedere. Who else would come up with the great idea of using a bowling ball to control a rear spoiler? Genius.

I second Faster Farms, and I'm suprised no one's mentioned the Sharks or Troy yet, but what about the MooPoo/Scuderia Suino Rosso/Black Widow Miata team?
Now before you engage the flame-throwers hear me out. Not only are they the only multiple Curse recipients in Lemons history, but the whole gettin' outta Dodge routine they pulled in New Orleans, while it pissed a lot of people off at the time, is totally in character with the ridiculousness of this series.

Agreed, these guys have checked off a bunch of the boxes for Lemons glory with only 3 different races. Ran the inaugural AMP race. Brought money home from their first two, and were punished severely for the 50 pounds of cheat they stuffed in their 20 pound bag of 540 at BWillow, then made it run again. Theme quality was a little weak to begin with, but they were nearly vomit inducing (in a good way) the last time around:
Plus they are the originators of the lemonscar'amino conversion:
Any multi-time jalop-featured team (including a NPOCP!) should earn a default HOB nomination:

It may be gauche, but if the Schnïtzëls are in then I've gotta nominate Our Lady of Perpetual Downforce.
PS nice job with the umlauts. I had to cut and past yours.

You can't nominate yourself! *BRAAAAANNNNK!!!* Instant disqualification!
Well, since you used a howitzer fan in your totally dangerous sucker car, we'll consider OLOPD. However, those of you who are having all your friends spam LeMons HQ with copy/pasted identical emails (you know who you are, Troy) are not helping your favorite team's cause.

To my knowledge, Troy is the only driver to have a penalty and a trophy named after him. That should count for something.
