Topic: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

Finally, my shot at starting the unofficial pre-race megathread!

I applied (and have been inexplicably accepted) with the Scoupe, but I'm likely to withdraw due to my lack of truck or trailer with which to get it there. (Got a truck/trailer and want to help? Let's talk!)

Alternatively, I'd love to drive your heap ... if you have a free seat, let me know. (I mean "free" as in available, not gratis -- although that would be pretty sweet)

Beyond the pandering for seats & tow-buddies... I hear a really fast turbocharged AWD wagon might be making its triumphant return for this race.

Who else is coming, and what fine maritime vessel will you be piloting?

Re: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

2 months to go!!!  We've been accepted.  We plan to arrive that Thursday night.

I have nothing to add.  Nothing exciting for our car at this point.  It's already been re-themed prior to last race.  We have to beat out the dents that are in the hood and pull out the support for the radiator.

I'm sure we'll be getting laps.  Guess we'll see how many.

We only have a 24' trailer, so sorry we don't have any room.  sad

Re: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

We need a driver for the Ciera.  Been accepted just short a driver, although for the most part it's been reliable so you may find it boring.

Re: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

Team Bad Decisions will be there.  Vehicle as yet undetermined...it will be a Class C no matter what.  We scrapped the potential plan for running two possible cars because it seemed like way too much work.

We will arrive Thursday night...or at least part of us.

Looking forward to it!
So yeah we will be there with the Celica, upgrades for Class A so far include a more comfy seat and a roll of plastic to build a new front airdam for more downforce domination!
The four race old hand me down rear tires from Lemon-Aid will likely do another race and the ST-43 brake pads look like they will do at least one more race making it three races on one set of pads. I love economy endurance racing!

Wisconsin crap will be there.   Have started to re theme the car again since autobahn.   Hopefully we can string together some of the magic we had in the spring.

Argh, the spinning Dorito of misery returns...now with more Poutine!

But Seriously, 85% of the "reserved" electrical sots are from the Usual Suspects with the intent of doing a Saturday party.  Since Lemons HQ is planning something, how about worlds most dysfunctional Pot luck 6 PM Friday on the front Paddock Road?

set up your grill
bring your sides
I will have 15 gallons of Homebrew
Instead of the traditional roving paddock party, plop down with a camp chair and we all congregate timing tower to gate on the front road?

Re: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

I'll finally be there with a car and most of a team!

We'll be Friday noon arrivals but as newbs it's fine since we sure as hell won't have a shot at winning so a bad paddock spot won't really matter.

Still waiting to get the car back from cage maker, and still working on a driver #4, but the T-bird will be there!

Re: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

This is our first Midwest race for Glue Stick Racing!  We've been doing NJMP since 2013 and haven't traveled well until now (still only have half the team).  We are likely bringing our F-Body as it seems there are several out there and probably a lot easier to find parts for than our Jag in South West Michigan.  We were lucky enough to get one of the electrical spots and arriving early Friday morning after a long nights drive.

So, I guess we'll be contributing something to the pot luck then, sounds like a fun idea.

Just do us all a favor if you bring the f-body, when it rains...not if...slow down.  F-bodies seem to hate the U-body for its obviously superior wet weather performance and hit them with alarming regularity...like three times in the same race...by three different f-bodies.

LOL, I will make sure to let my team know.  We've been lucky to avoid any significant rain so far, let's hope we don't have to learn.

Re: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

We've been accepted too!

Unfortunately, we won't be participating in Spec Land Yacht this race, as the Imperial won't be ready in time.  We're gonna Probe it this race.

We will, however, have a few 10th anniversary surprises up our sleeves.........

White Trash will be there bringing our Eagle Vision as well as the Rambler. We should all be arriving sometime Friday morning. Can't wait for the shenanigans!
I'm just curious, has anyone been waitlisted?

Was a little worried at first since I have not received the usual email acceptance. Then I logged in and saw we were accepted. So Afunzalo Racing will be there with the #333 Ford Escort ZX2.

Yea I haven't gotten an email either. Just on the event page.

I did get a new team member e-mail but not an accepted.

Re: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

For some dumb reason the Lowballers have signed up for our 5th race of the year with at least 2 cars and plan on making the rather long haul up north...
Bringing the Geo and the Benz. I sadly dont think the Hooptiecorn side of the team signed up in time, losers.

But we look forward to bringing the Southern party to a new track!

I would have loved to see the Hooptiecorn in person. Maybe they'll take a late app?

So, I was able to secure a driver wristband from a team under the condition that I participate in the theme and have no actual expectations of driving their car - so now I just need a seat. I thus began thinking to myself: "what's the best way to celebrate this monumental occasion?" which quickly lead me to the only obvious answer: drive as many cars as possible!

I call it... A DECADE OF DOMINATION!

If you are willing and able to figure out a price for 5 laps (out-lap, 3 hot-laps, in-lap) or more, and can find a time to fit me in your car, let's make a deal!

Re: A DECADE OF DISAPPOINTMENT

if you are looking for 5 laps, I'm guessing that will get sorted a lot at the track depending on how the cars are running making sure their drivers get laps and what place they are in for them competitive teams.  So talk to us at the track and we'll probably be able to figure something out.

Yeah we had originally planned on it going. We'll see what we can do! We've not gotten it out in public lately and its kinda sad!

We will be dropping one of our cars...probably tomorrow so even if it full, they have an opening.
