Topic: Thompson pics

Evenin' all.

Thompson was my first Lemons experience and one I've been looking forward to for a long time. It's also the first time I've tried to photograph anything moving faster than the AARP 100 metres for the terminally incontinent.

I spent a fantastic weekend dragging around 20lbs of camera gear in the sweltering heat trying my best to get anything in focus. Turns out taking pics of fast moving cars through a chain link fence isn't easy. I tried to get as many of the cars as possible but inevitably there are multiples of some and I'm missing others, plus I'm sure many duplicates etc etc.

Overall I had a blast, it was everything I'd hoped it would be. Thanks to Ted and the 26 Alfa guys for taking me in and plying me with beer at the end of day one, it was a life saver.

Only thing I'd ask is that if, for some crazy reason, you want to use them in a commercial(ish) setting and the pangs of guilt are keeping you up at night throw a few bucks toward the Lemons charity of your choice, even if it's just another team who've spent their beer budget on new tyres.

Re: Thompson pics

These look great, lots of good action shots. Would you be ok with us reposting a couple of these of our car on our Facebook page? With an appropriate credit in description of course. If so, what would you like me to put down?

Thanks for snapping these!

I have to say I've got a very different appreciation now of the driving you guys do. To watch it on YooToob is one thing but to see how truly fast and close the racing is in person a real eye opener. I'd have sworn there wasn't enough combined brake power to stop the combined tonnage barreling toward the first corner on the green flag. 'Balls of brass' doesn't come close.

Re: Thompson pics

I remembered that I'd shot some video at Thompson. Not much usable stuff but I got about three shaky minutes of iron being flung around corners.

Thanks for the pics Ben Booy.

Here's an onboard video from Dunkin D'snuts from day 2, if anyone wants to sit through 10 minutes or so.
