Topic: Sunroof clarification

So, we just arrived at Gingerman. We have an original glass sunroof. A veteran suggested that we have to have a glass sunroof removed and covered with mesh or a metal panel. Our understanding of the rule is that the original sunroof could just be closed. His point was that this meant a solid panel type sunroof. It glad. However the rule is silent on this. Can anyone clarify? This is something we could fix if necessary but we tried to adhere to the every rule as written. Yes I know that the professionals take out the glass to save weight. That wasn't a concern of ours and we street drive the car, so we chose to leave it in. Any help would be appreciated. We will obviously see the judges in the morning if we don't get an answer.

Re: Sunroof clarification

Don't see why it would be a problem. There's a glass windshield in front of you and glass windows behind you and to the sides.

edit: pretty self explanatory

3.J.6 No Open Sunroofs. All sunroof openings must be covered by either the original sunroof panel; a new panel securely fixed into place; or securely fixed mesh with openings no larger than 1/2-inch each.

You have the original panel.

Re: Sunroof clarification

He had this one time, we were asked to tape the glass of the sunroof. We made a checker pattern out of duct tape, your experience may vary as this was back in 2010.

Re: Sunroof clarification

Well. We can answer this... take it out and put some sheet metal over it. Dale made us take it out. No big deal. We found some steel and closed it up. Really appreciate Dale giving us advice pre-tech.
