Ahhh yes, the Alanis Morissette/George W. Bush definition of ironic.

Re: Themes you'd like to see done

That's our Mustang!!  While I was goofing off in Portland my teammates were getting famous on TV interviewed for The Car Show.  Greg was the guy explaining the various items found in the Mustang from the previous owner of craigslist: broken crack pipe, giant women's flannel g-string, tickets to chuck-e-cheese.  Good stuff.  The Gone in 60 Laps paint scheme only lasted 2 races in 2010.  Thank god.  The polyester clothes were unbearable at ArseSweatApalooza.  It was upgraded to the My Little Pony livery at Buttonwillow last year.  Three races in and the pink mane and tail are still going strong.  The rainbow acts like one of the F1 or LeMans fins to give the car more stability.  Yeah right.  It just looks so damn good.

A battlefield earth theme is a good one...or a good punishment. Or both.

Has no one done the Monarchmobile from Venture Brothers yet?  It would be particularly easy to do if you just happened to be racing a crappy blue Nissan Stanza.

If you were racing a large boxy American sedan, or even an E30, how about the Mark I Monarchmobile?

Minivan, or full sized van or truck? Or anything if you use enough plywood, then the Mk 2 edition.

Of course everyone knows the current version is the best, what with the ability to fly and drive underwater.  What? It doesn't have a submersible mode? Well the Monarch didn't know that either.

The problem with this, is if you do it well enough you run the danger of being handed $500 and a judges robe in bs and watch Judge Phil disappear into the sunset in your race car to never be seen again.

Re: Themes you'd like to see done

You could get a Dodge Diplomat and go shithouse on it, big motor, wide wheels, good suspension, etc.  Then, when the judges want to give you laps, pull out your South African ID and say "Diplomatic Immunity", they won't be able to touch you.  Just make sure the judge isn't too old for this shit.

Come on multi-car guys. Where is the DOW, Dominator,  TIV, and team screaming at weather patterns, looking at laptops yelling "THE VELOCITIES ARE GOING BANANAS!!!", while reporting tornadoes on the ground with cell phone? We spent a 3 hour car ride discussing all the possibilities with this theme. Huge potential for win. Paging Cannonball Bandits....

We've got a pretty good (family safe) theme for this weekend's Houston race- don't think it has been done yet.

Hopefully I'll be able to chime in with a pic later this week!
