Thanks,

watched you do that from the bridge. You popped out of there something fierce. Glad you're OK, and looking forward to some more footage. That low line can be tricky (the whole thing is, but fun!) - we had someone track out into the concrete into a car in front of us - chain reaction took us out last year.
Hey man glad you're ok, thanks for the nuts and bolts yesterday morning they were a huge help. Sorry to see you go out like that, your car is crazy awesome.
Glad you walked away. It wasa pretty hard hit, and your car looked pretty good afterward. I look forward to seeing it again (passing me in the straights)
Damn... glad you are alright. I was in the ModSquad MR2 that you had passed a minute earlier and when I saw you crashed I was worried. Saw you waving so I knew you were okay. Monitize that video!
Wow - glad you're ok. The car really launched out of the carrousel.
Probably needs more power.
Glad you're ok. You know it's a hard hit when the back end lifts off the ground, and you knock over two sections of concrete barricade behind the tire wall.
It was partially my fault. Olaaf and I are friends, and we have a friendly rivalry on track. He upped the boost to try and beat me at Sunday's start, and he had more power than I did, but the Vic was just a tad slower in the turns. I find that Summit favors the more powerful cars over the precision handling cars (my old Mark VIII, the Mercedes S500, and the Rusty Cougar prove that theory), and initially he was on my ass like paint, so he probably would have gotten around me eventually. I held him off for a few laps while driving the Titanic, then opened up a gap working through traffic until I no longer saw him in the rear view. He's a good driver, but he was pushing a bit too hard to close the gap when this occurred. The car really just needs a radiator and a bit of straightening. It's a masterpiece of lemony engineering, even if it is over the top.
It sounded really good up until all the tire noise and metal compression.
Did you always take the low line? (Why not use the carousel?)
It wasn’t speedys fault- after 3-4 laps of battle in traffic with the titanic, I check my temps and I’m running hotter than ever- oil and water- I wanted to save the car for the other guys, so I back off a bit and get into some clear space.. I went back and forth in my mind trying to decide to try and set a fast lap or come in- I was indecisive as to what I was doing on track after conceding the battle to speedy.
So, in this run down the hill I brake a little later than usual (did I miss the braking zone? My memory is a little fuzzy, and I don’t think I ever had a clear lap at the carousel), and the pedal sinks right to the floor (we were having braking problems all weekend, and we were the first car towed off track Saturday during transponder checks because all 4 brakes locked up)- so, the pedal sinks to the floor and I panic and stomp it with all my might- I decide to try for the inside line to get more braking distance (I realize now I probably should have used the carousel).
Harrys lap timer shows my top speed on this lap at 100.3 mph, I’m not sure if that is the main straight or this straight- but it’s close I was revving over 5500 in 4th gear. On Saturday we kept the RPM below 4900.
Sorry for stopping the race for everybody. We are going to fix up and car and go for new Hampshire.
we apparently have external video - asked the guy with it to try to get it on here. should be exciting.

I was seeing just a few more MPH into turn 1 vs. into the karussel.
Oh my god. It sounds like THAT inside? This just cemented the endgame for my road car Crown Vic. Twin remote turbos.
Are you for hire?
I thought I might have something from our in-car. But all that is there is the dust cloud as I crest the top of the hill straight.

I've typed and deleted over a dozen thoughts. I don't know what to type that won't make me sound like more of a self-righteous asshole than I already am...
I wish you safety and success at your next outing.

This was my fault, no question- being unsure of what I was doing on track after ceding the battle to Jeff I should have come in. It was complete emotional failure on my part. I take safety seriously and it won’t happen again. I’m upgrading the driver control module next month. (I’m going to skip barber 3 day + 2 day race school)
Is it wrong that I immediately thought of this video?

Yeah, I was standing at the wall at the hairpin right (after the karousel) as saw the taxi shoot right out of the bowl. Glad to see you were OK. Turbos did sound awesome coming out of that hairpin
damn that was a nasty one. glad your ok. get that thing back together and see u in NH
I think it's worth analyzing what happened after the braking snafu. Braking is the most difficult part of race car driving, in my opinion. And the brakes on the Taxi certainly did not do much to inspire confidence. Still, you can't drive like this in your street car so consider it to be a fantastic opportunity to learn.
Looks like the rear started coming around, Olaaf countersteered, which made the whole car move towards the outside, which caused the rear to hit the grippy concrete patch in the carousel, regain grip suddenly, and now because the steering wheel was pointed to the outside, the car headed towards the tire wall. Classic over-correction mistake. The carousel made it that much trickier.
Look through this video to see just how many crashes happen due to over correction and a subsequent inadequate return of wheel to center.

Panthers in general have always had a squishy brake feel.
I've got drilled and slotted rotors on mine (anyone at Lemons NJ or lat Sunday Summit point could've seen the car, can't miss a black CV with Bullitt wheels) and my pedal feel is exactly the same as before I upgraded the brakes...stopping distance is all that changed.
A lot of squishy brake pedal issues are due to an overboosted brake master cylinder.
