Topic: Oh Merde, 3PM's next car

Thanks to Spank for bringing this to my attention as he knew we were looking for one of these for a while now.  Somehow, it almost make the Rolls seem sane.

Hydraulic everything, Maserati DOHC engine, undersized Borg Warner transmission, inboard brakes, and hasn't really run since 1982.  What can possibly go wrong!

I present to you, the 1973 (we think), Citroen SM!

Re: Oh Merde, 3PM's next car

The car did come with a spare set of seats, so it seems likely that the best of them will end up on the Jazzy like the Rolls's passenger seat did.

I'll bet that Maserati engine sounds good with glasspacks.

Wow! There is no potential for failure possible here.

Re: Oh Merde, 3PM's next car

the "S&M" is an appropriate name, because that thing is hurting and abused.

however, I'll be ecstatic to see this at the track.

Re: Oh Merde, 3PM's next car

As I said on the facespace, I cannot describe how happy this makes me.

I missed out on the Rolls, I'd love a chance to help with this one. If you ever have openings at races i'm not bringing my car to let me know.

Does the crazy air suspension work?   Nothing can go wrong with this....

Re: Oh Merde, 3PM's next car

With a red line @ 6500 rpm.
Stopping distance from 80 mph to 0 of 400'
OR--------- stopping in 750'  when you get it up to 110 mph.

Very impressive.

It's a hydraulic suspension, not an air suspension.  Although at this point it might be an air suspension.

The headlights are tied in to the suspension and the steering, so they go up and down opposite the suspension, and turn where you're pointing.

This whole system will make that Rolls seem simple in comparison.  Can't wait to see it going around the track, with no body lean whatsoever.

Don't be tempted to put anything other than the green Citroen hydraulic fluid in the system, anything else will destroy it before the race is over.
