Topic: Wanna bring a racecar to a Mini-Maker Faire in Oakland 10/19?

The East Bay Mini Maker Faire is a smaller (5000 people?) version of the giant San Mateo show.

What is a Maker Faire you ask? The site says...."A Maker Faire is about celebrating learning and doing – not the finished and perfect end product.  It’s a place to show projects, share what we’re learning with others, and celebrate the fun and freedom of being an amateur."
UGH I cant post links but google East Bay Mini-Maker Faire for more info.

It seems like the Lemons sort of thing right?

We are hoping to get a team or two to bring a racecar and talk about hacking $500 crap cans into Lemons trim and racing them. Bonus points for crazy builds...and costumes? Kid-friendly ones are best as there will be alot of kids in the crowd. Dont want to freak out too many with X-rated paintjobs.

Someone would need to hang out, with the car(s) maybe fire up the engine once in a while to scare the kids, and tell racing tales. But if a whole crew took turns it would give you plenty of time to wander around and see other sights.

We can provide free passes and lunch to folks working the Faire and a few for family members if you want to bring a kid or two in tow.

The Lemons folks said they would provides some Lemons swag to give away.

If anyone is interested please contact me directly ASAP at bentice@gmail.com. The Faire is coming up soon!

Thanks,

Ben Smith
