This video probably exists elsewhere on this forum, but what about this picture?

Huh? Huh?

"This is the scene where I get shot," Bronson said. "I have these little squibs that explode to make it look like bullets are hitting." "Fascinating," said Bergman. "I never knew how they did that." "You mean," asked Bronson, "you don't use machine guns in your movies?"

Re: RRT Footage and Post

I for one am disappointed that we've only seen two front-wheel-drive Cadillacs in all of Lemons history.

Consider this, prospective teams still shopping for cars: both of those Caddies have won major awards (Index Of Effluency for the fine race car you see pictured above, and Organizer's Choice for the Corporate Machine at South '08). Also consider that Northstar-powered Cadillacs can now be found for LeMons-grade prices- if those 4.9-powered Cads did so well, how can you help but own with a freakin' Northstar?

Re: RRT Footage and Post

Murilee, you weren't there for Team Caddyshack's Detroit '07 entry. Possibly the best application of all time--lots of pastel sweaters, golf outfits, and cigars. http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v1084/188/124/36766739494/n36766739494_1187417_8272.jpg

Re: RRT Footage and Post

And Team Caddyshack won an award, too!

It's obvious that FWD Caddy = fast track to a trophy!

Re: RRT Footage and Post

The FWD Cadillac I most want to see is Ace Rothstein's ride, the one that blows up in the opening sequence of the movie Casino: 80s Eldorado Biarritz!

The Biarritz was ungodly expensive when new, but totally worth it! You got a stainless-steel roof, a torquey 4.1 liter front-drive V8, and button-tucked leather upholstery. You'd think one of these babies would be totally out of reach for a Lemons team, but present-day car buyers don't recognize the awesome value of the Biarritz, and you can profit from their ignorance!

For example, here's an '83 near Fresno that would be just perfect for Team Ace Rothstein to take to Buttonwillow or Thunderhill. Remember, all members of Team Ace Rothstein must wear turquoise suits with matching shoes.

Houston-bound teams might consider fleeing Anton Chigurh in this '80 Biarritz, and the seller is willing to trade it for a full-size mattress set, a water heater, or a Playstation!

It's a long drive from Seattle to Thunderhill, but don't let that stop you from buying this '84 Biarritz and thumbing your nose at those unoriginal teams driving... well, we know what they drive, eh?

Hey you -- what engine was in your car? the 4.1 or the 4.5?

Legendary race engine!

Re: RRT Footage and Post

thank you wink you WILL see the elk-dorado again...

Re: RRT Footage and Post

I like the one out by Odessa, but that's a longer drive than New Orleans! That's OK, it looks like it'll be there for a while. smile

Re: RRT Footage and Post

Another good Cadillac option is the  1975-79 Seville, which was essentially a dressed-up Chevy Nova with an Olds 350 engine. That means all those cheapo aftermarket Nova swaybars and shocks will bolt on, and you should be able to get headers and an intake/Holley 600 pretty cheap. So cheap, in fact, that you really won't need to cheat.

Here's one in Washington, here's a '78 in New York, here's a '79 in Pomona, and here's a '79 in Oregon,

We'll let both of ya turn some laps at Reno next year, and I'll bet  you'd give us the IoE again..lol.  We are already planning on Reno next year, with only a oil change, tranny fluid change, new front pads/ rotors and 10 new junkyard tires(for the front). No more no less, well unless it shed's its antlers and they grow bigger before next time:)

No need, I had the pleasure of driving the 4.9-powered Corporate Machine at CMP and I'm thoroughly convinced of the inherent effluency- I mean raceworthiness- of the front-wheel-drive Cadillac.

Re: RRT Footage and Post

No V8-6-4 bustleback Seville, no care!

...why thank you.

Re: RRT Footage and Post

A Caddy may get you an IoE award, but it's probably not going to get you around the track very long.  My daily driver is a 300HP '98 STS and she's dying fast.  I have to carry the multimeter and OBDII software around with me to keep her and that blasted slushbox tranny going.  Of course it probably doesn't help that I drive her like I stole her.  Everyday.  I love the smell of burning rubber in the morning....
