Sewed my patches on my helmet bag for me.
Mine bought me a HANS and paid to have my belts re-webbed.
She sewed my patches on my suit.
Best of all, she does not complain when I spend money I don't have on racing.
Her only requirement is that I keep the Super Snipe under a cover in the driveway.
That is, unless potential buyers come to look at the vacant lot next door -- then I'm
supposed to uncover it and start working.
Next?
Went out for ice cream last night, in her '68 Camaro. Sitting at a light, a new Camaro pulled up next to us. Light turns green, both cars roll forward for about a 1/2 a second, then all of a sudden she TROMPS on the loud pedal. I was totally not expecting it. She pulls on the new Camaro for about 1/8 mile, then lets off. I'm sitting there laughing my ass off, and she's smiling ear-to-ear.
The new Camaro didn't have a baby asleep in a car seat in the back, either. :-)
Over the years, the little Missus has given me lots tools (bless her heart) for my addiction... from Snap-On wrenches, sockets, ratchets, creepers, rolling stools to a Hypertherm plasma cutter. But the coolest thing was this...Irwin Tools 117 Piece Machine Screw/Fractional/Metric Tap and Hex Die Set with Drill Bit Set...it has saved my bum many, many times.
Winner winner chicken dinner! I hit the freakin lottery when I met my wife! Good looker, takes care of herself, doesn't age, great sense of humor, smart and witty, pretty much lets me do what I want, hunt , fish race, camp ,etc. My only complaint is that she doesn't come to the races with me.

My wife comes to the races when she can. She didn't think she would like it but ended up having a good time and helping out. She also tolerates the expenses well. She didn't complain that I just spent $350 on a Milwaukee 18v electric impact wrench. I get tired/too old for muscling on and off lug nuts and this thing looks like a beast.
Wife is our fifth, she drove the truck and trailer back from Cabo when we did the 1000, she did not divorce me when I drained our bank account on my '51 Chevy P/U, she bought me a garage bigger than her house, she thinks I am funny and hot (totally not). We will see if this story has a happy ending after I pick up another Corvair tonight. YEAH I SAID ANOTHER CORVAIR. Game, set, match.
I really dig the patches on the helmet bag. That was brilliant.
I'll take advantage of this thread to give my wife some mad props too.
My wife single-handedly painted our race car.
She has attended all our races. She is the team manager. She has checklists for everything. And, she is in charge of theme costumes and bribes.
She even bakes many of the bribes herself.
She has covered more than her share of time as radio crew chief each race weekend.
She is part of the crew in the paddock and the hot pit.
Oh yeah and she is one of our fast drivers, often pulling the longest stint of the weekend.
But, she will not drive the truck with the trailer hooked up, she bought a nice Craftsman impact wrench, but she put it in her own track tool box for HPDE weekends, and she had a nice set of Craftsman tools with her name engraved when we met, so she gives me a hard time when she finds them in my tool box :-(
My only complaint is that she doesn't come to the races with me.
My wife also has no interest in coming to the track or participating in any race activities.
But that's OK, since I have no interest in going to her sock knitting conventions. (Honest,
they are real!)
The one time she came to a track (Thunderhill) was when she was on her way home from
one of the aforementioned conventions, and only had to take a six mile detour from the
freeway to the track. It was Friday -- a perfect time to show her around and introduce her
to my friends. But as night fell, she was upset by some of the drunken antics, so she
left and continued home. To this day, that is her reason for not going to a track.
Since she supports my Lemons activities in so many other ways, I count myself very
lucky to have her.
Update on my marriage: came home with the Monza, wait first back story. Car is 1964 Chevy Corvair Monza, car was owned by seller's father, car was restored for seller's daughter in 1995. Daughter did not like driving the car and it was parked under a pine tree. Fast forward 20 years and you find a rusted out hunk with new interior and nice looking Rochesters. Even the headliner is nice!
IF YOU HAVE A PROJECT CAR GO WORK ON IT NOW! IF YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT YOU HAVE LOST INTEREST IN, SELL IT TO SOMEONE WHO WILL WORK ON IT!
I felt bad about turning our first Corvair into a race car, because I thought it might be restorable, now I feel even worse because the second Corvair was really nice and was restorable (in the late 90's).
Well back to my marriage, wife came out of the house to greet us (she never does that), her first comment was "Where is that going?", replied "xxxxxxxx's house" (misdirection), gave her a kiss and told her I loved her. Her response: "I know." I KNOW, she said I KNOW, she pulled the Han Solo and said I KNOW. She made me lunch this morning and put Hello Kitty fruit snacks in it, all's good.

I am still a newb at this Lemons thing, but I already have three patches. I wanted to do something with them, but in Texas we just don't wear jackets that often. I thought putting them on the helmet bag was a good place.
pretty much lets me do what I want, hunt , fish race, camp ,etc.
I've been trying to get into fish racing. Do you have any advice?

Ha I know , commas mean a lot.
Example;
Let's eat grandma!
Let's eat, grandma!
Some of you know Giesela, some know that I lured her with chocolates and cosmetics, then tricked her into marrying me. She truly is my better half, and not only allows most of my stupid antics, but supports them.
She doesn' "allow" Lemons, she is part of it!
I'll just leave these here...

Is it OK that I am a little in love with her now...being a bald, old fat man with too many dogs?

Yes it's okay. I realize how amazing she is and how lucky I am. Even more awesome is thatt we get to raise our daughter in this amazing world and she will grow up with mom racing cars, flying and jumping out of planes, getting her masters, etc.

My wife and I both have Computer Science degrees. She is now a Program Manager and I am still just a lowly Software Engineer/"Automation Specialist". I guess that makes her the boss :-)
