Topic: Dead photo sharing website

When we started this Lemons journey, I was dismayed with photobucket and someone who was instrumental with the mini build started a HubGarage page where we documented the build.

http://www.hubgarage.com/mygarage/Spank/vehicles

I subsequently created other Hubgarage pages for other builds to host photos.

I now don't seem to be able to get the host site or any of the other individual sites I created to come up.

Are those photos that were hosted on there gone forever, likely?

I can't even get the google cache to come up for it
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s … ent=safari

Is it maybe just my outdated browser?

Re: Dead photo sharing website

I thought the Internet Archive would be a help - http://archive.org/web/ - but it only saved your pages down to the thumbnail level. I can't find the actual pictures. You might email them to see if they have suggestions. It's a non-profit so they should be very willing to help.

Internet Archive is a fascinating resource - both for archived web content going back to the very early days, and open source content harvested from all over. They're also big on digitizing analog media (books, films, audio) in order to save it for the future.

Which is the very time I first heard about this lunacy - all of us should see what it was like back when a whole year's results fit on one page!

And take a look at the legacy teams - Eyesore, Black Iron Racing, Pit Crew Revenge up at 15th!, the 3 Saabs Gone Wild teams, Motoring J Style, Ecurie Ecrappe, Snowspeeders, and there back in 30th for the May '08 Altamont race. . . the Skunk itself!

I was at Altamont in May 2008 as a spectator. I knew the guys on the Formula BMW team.

The mindworm was planted in my brain, and only seven years later I was driving selfsame Skunk in my first Lemons race. I am now fully addicted and in serious need of professional help.
