While I do agree that there needs to be more fun in metal, and I also agree that there are too many people who take the "metal lifestyle" way too seriously, I disagree with making it more "pop".

Yes, definitely. I find it interesting how Korn killed the guitar solo for a good ten years or so and Dragonforce brought it back (with the help of Guitar Hero). We don't need guitar solos all the time, but we do need them.
