We're a new team from the Chicago burbs.  Joliet will be our first race.  Shockingly, the car is nearly done with a whole 3 weeks to finish up the odds and ends.  It's a 944 but I think our theme should make up for our rather cheaty car.  Either that, or you can laugh at us for the pile of penalty laps we accrue at BS.  We're looking forward to meeting everyone.  It looks like the practice session on Friday has a driver meeting before tech even opens.  Is the Autobahn practice session totally separate from the actual Lemons event?  I've already found the signup page for it.  Just curious about the specifics and if it's worth it.  Also, and I realize this is a stupid question, but do all of the drivers need to be there for that 8:30am meeting?

Jäger Bomb Racing

Every test and tune is run by the track, not Lemons.  In the case of Autobahn, you need one competent person there and preferably the car.  That competent guy explains the rules to the rest of the team and goes through Autobahn's "tech".

Is it worth it...very much so if you have never been to the track and/or you have not done any shakedown runs on the street.

No one that has been racing in Lemons for a while is worried about you 944 sweeping the field.  You will likely be fast but stuff will break and it will take you ten times longer to fix than some guy in an Escort.

Re: Teams racing at Autobahn check in here

Thanks.  That's good news about that drivers meeting.  We have low expectations for this race.  I think we'll be pleasantly surprised if it's still running to take the checkered flag.  Luckily we've got plenty of spares for the car.

Team Just Puttin Around will be there. Does anyone know what the camping accommodations will be like? Will there be electrical hookups available, or will we need to provide our own?

No electrical hookups, plenty of space on the grassy areas for camping.
Nice clean toilets and showers.

Well, using the ol' number counting trick, I'm seeing 91 teams registered.

Scratch the Mirada boys, just the Integra, hopefully. Both cars needed a lot o work and lets face it, its only in the 80's up here for like 3 months so we are getting out of the shop and out on the lake.

Stop by have a beer and we will tell you more. Also in Team (oily) Sheen News, Mirada captain Chris put some hardware on his number 1 cheerleader and awesome girlfriend this summer.  He swears he is not done racing.  Mirada will most likely be back to dominate class b at Gingerman this fall.

Big AC unit going in trailer.

But it may not matter as..

Car won't start.  Somewhat puzzling.  Ran when parked... Don't bother with advice.  Long down the rabbit hole of possibilities.

It is supposed to be good for 1000 square feet.  Trailer is 200 sq feet.  Hoping to be able to hang meat in there.

Has your car been hanging out with any Volvo wagons or Ford Probes?

Hey!  Our Probe has been starting every day now for a couple of months.  And I do start it every day and give it a nice pat on the roof after every start.

Our no-start problem is still not solved, it's just in remission..  Good luck Lemon-Aid guys -- hope you figure it out.
