Maxxis VR1 at CMP?

Has anyone ran these tires at CMP?  We're thinking of trying them for 2017, but we would love some real world feedback from teams with first hand experience. 

CMP is such a cheese grater surface that it's VERY hard on tires, more especially a FWD car, so we are looking for alternative tire choices like the Maxxis.  They are affordable too so they may just fit the bill.
