The AC compressor was removed from the Legacy several years ago after it seized on my way back from buying a Merkur at an estate auction.

Oh, and my FaceSpace feed told me that five years ago today I was replacing the first dead center differential; and now it's in the capable(?) hands of the Lounge Leader

With that being said... Who's bringing a Sawzall?

No Sawzalls unless you're installing a big pink knit hat on the car.  wink

Re: Are you bringing a CB? What else are you bringing for tools/ spares?

I have an extra 5sp and and rear diff.

I am. It's part of my "rear differential failure" contingency because the axle shafts are permanently seized to the diff.

Re: Are you bringing a CB? What else are you bringing for tools/ spares?

I just picked up a SWR meter that I'll bring with me if anyone wants to fine tune their CB set-up.

I also have an extra 28" antenna.  If you want me to bring it, let me know.

I could use that when we get there.  Not that I will know what I am doing, but the CB forums seem to think they are useful/necessary so that your radio doesn't die a fiery death.

Re: Are you bringing a CB? What else are you bringing for tools/ spares?

Since CB lore has largely faded into the distant past, I'll remind anyone running a vehicle with a fiberglass body (e.g. Speedycop's Reliant Regal) or anyone else who is otherwise planning to mount their antenna somewhere not on a large metallic surface that you'll need a "no ground plane" antenna. They're still readily available for use on fiberglass boats, for mounts attached to West Coast mirrors, and so forth.

There are CB forums?

Anyway, why the hell not. I want to see how you tune an antenna.

I hear rally drivers are using CB ch2 .  I cant make the rally because my car is not done . but I will be offering a free road side assistance 50 miles either side of buffalo . I have a 4x4 F 250 with plow . I can bring you tools / drive you to the nearest parts store / get you out of a ditch . I can NOT tow on the NYS thruway I-90 . -   I will either be exit 57 redroof parking lot .  or down by the cheap gas stations at exit 58 irving/silver creek . maybe casino parking http://www.buffalogasprices.com/map_gas … 2&ft=A
yes there will be very cheap gas 30 miles south/west of buffalo . today is 1.65  -I-90 exit 58  irving - silver creek  / go right out of the toll booth .1.7 miles up ...much better than 2.61 2 exits before
RED F 250 /w  red plow   I will be on cb2   / this forum / Lemons rally FB page / and steve mc Daniel will have my cell number

Re: Are you bringing a CB? What else are you bringing for tools/ spares?

Co driver got us a cb, with the magnetic base. I was hoping for the long  antenna , but what can ya do.
Anyways I guess we will be on channel two, are we supposed to have "handles" 0r what ever the kids call it these days?

Re: Are you bringing a CB? What else are you bringing for tools/ spares?

My teammate didn't find my 24 inch magnetic mount sufficient.
So we pulled into a truck stop and he got a 36 inch center load.
