Topic: We have sold our souls

Sputnik's new whip.

http://i.imgur.com/CF3yXXe.jpg

I wanted another rust bucket, but the people demanded a sports car. Democracy won.

I think both the car and the garage deserve a "before" and "after" series of pictures.

This is what we start with after vehicle's owner got his demands met (rollbar, engine, and some misc. items removed and handed back to him).  We get a free rolling shell for doing the above. I have shelves upon shelves of pieces of banned cars, so I bet we can make something work with near-zero budget, bar some welding wire, gas, and misc. consumables.

T-11 weekends to go.

As much as I'd like to do a FWD Miata, the hub pattern is wrong. We do have some odd motors, though.

Where are you getting such clean shells? My little runaround Miata is being held together with rust and hope at this point, but the drivetrain and interior are fine.

That one is for an RB20DET powered street car. We do have a spare NA RB20DE at the shop, but it's like 400 pounds and is longer than the car, so that's a no-go.

Cram a straight six in there. Any straight six. Nissan L-series. GM Vortec. Slant Six. Ford Straight Six.

Re: We have sold our souls

Yea a Turbine is the new Grail. Otherwise the low Redline makes piston Aircraft engines tricky. IF you can find one cheap.
