Topic: Legendary Fiat 131 for sale - NY - $1500 OBO

Own a piece of Lemons history with this legendary Fiat 131. An almost race ready car it's a favorite of the judges and competitors alike. Currently without a running motor (hence 'almost' race ready) it also comes with a spare 1976 Fiat 131 with an automatic transmission, also without motor. If you get the sense that these engines don't last long you'd be right. It has great handling and will keep up with any car in the twisties. If you're looking for some Class C action it doesn't get any better. Just add (better) engine and voila. More pictures to come. $1500 OBO. The cars are located in Croton on Hudson, NY. Also includes two sets of custom Diamond Racing 16x7 wheels specific to Fiats, Alfas, and old Maseratis (4x100mm bolt pattern), Addco rear sway bar, Kirkey aluminum seat, and new racing seat belts.

Does this use the same Lampredi twin cam motor that came in the 124?

Re: Legendary Fiat 131 for sale - NY - $1500 OBO

Unless it's an oddball 1300 brought in from Canada or something (hugely unlikely), it's the same engine.  The 131 replaced the 124.  I'd really like to see this car stay in the series.

Oh yes, it'll take a Lampredi DOHC engine. That's what's in there now, albeit a block only with a big hole in it.

Pics from today. You may have to tilt your head on most of these. Note, the head will be removed before sale. And the bolt pattern on the wheels is 4x98mm, not 4x100

Let me talk with my team.  The cost of fixing our car might be about the same as buying yours.  And I've got a spare, running 1800 sitting in a 124 sport coupe that I need to dispose of the body.

Is there a title?  Not that I'd DD it, but it makes it easier for testing.

We have a buyer picking it up Friday. If it falls through for whatever reason I'll post it on the thread as being available.
