Topic: Ouch...

We told our team mate it wasn't a good idea to run expensive wheels... and with 2 laps to go today, he found out why...

Re: Ouch...

Well, to be BRUTALLY honest, The contact just flattened the tire and screwed up the wheel , the driver of the last stint came into the hot pit with a flat, and we ASSUMED (you know how that goes) he knew it was flat, we were racing to get a spare ready but he didn't come in....  he went back out with a flat!!!  That was the last we saw of him for a while...  He really really wanted to be in on that parade lap.. he was... but this time it was on the hook...

Was this in the first hour on the back straight, red car?  I have in car video of whoever that was.

Here's the other piece of the puzzle trippinbillies40. You guys were fast and aggressive out there.

Right rear of #39. You cracked out bondo  quarter pretty good.

Wasn't me driving at the time, and I doubt we were aggressive at that point because Tom was nursing the car across the finish with a broken front left axle.  But earlier in the race, I know we were pushing.  Lesson learned!  Fast and aggressive is great till you get two penalties in an hour after your drivers attempt passes and get bumped off track.

That having been said, YOU guys were FAST!

That green Neon with the grass stripes did this to our tire.

Re: Ouch...

We got punted once... sometime between 9-11:30pm by something green.  Our guy reported to black flag & was told to continue.  No clue who hit us.... but the #71 Neon wouldn't be a bad guess.  They were pretty aggressive during my stints.

Re: Ouch...

I thought the Neon raced pretty clean. I was faster than whoever was in it during my first stint, but then we blew up all of our shocks, and I couldnt hang with whoever was in it Sunday morning. It was fun racing him and Anothy in the Celica GT for a few laps till they weaseled through traffic that i got stuck in.

That photo also shows some of the damage created by the ass-monger in the Spec Miata early Sunday morning...

Funny thing was that I ran him down and we raced nosed to tail clean for 2-3 laps ( I was using his headlights as ours sucked ) and then he went really wide through T12. I went down the inside and had the run up onto the front straight when the guy "ran out of talent" and creamed into the left side of our car.....

Funny thing was he got back by me (cause I couldn't any longer see well enough through the carousel) and then flipped me off as he was passing on the back straight....

I should've jacked the dumbass up and sent him for a ride into the barn silo through the kink......(but I am not like that)

came into the pits to check the damage, went back out and ended up coming out right behind the J/A again......I could've been really bad for him, but I decided not to.

Had a great time in our first Lemons event. We'll be back for more ..........penalties .......for sure !!!

Re: Ouch...

You mean in our car??

I only contacted another car once in the entire race. It was a fast car that was braking very late, and I kept tailing him, when he ended up braking much earlier than needed (and that I was expecting) in the second to last corner. I BARELY touched the back, actually not even sure if I did touch him.

Re: Ouch...

I wasn't driving but 2 of our other drivers got wailed on from the rear.  We need to put  a rear-facing camera on. We got nailed at Stafford as well. I have to say that with those huge day-glow orange rockets on the back as well as the high and low brake lights I cannot believe that the car was hard to see. The car that drove me nuts from behind was the one with the orange lights. It always looked like a rolling yellow!

uh yeah

LOL... yeah...   Tom was running half speed, just trying to finish the race, right front axle about to jump out of it's cup...   we watched him creep by on the straight lap after lap, around 11:50 or so, he crept INTO the pit, hit, with a flat.. he was NOT aggressive OR fast when the damage that these two pics show, happened...  Did he KNOW he had a flat?  no.. lol.. but he knew he had be hit...

but good try... we heard about the number 39 all night, Tom wasn't the first.....

Sure, my guys probably weren't angels, and did drive fast and too aggressive early, and hell even late.. but in the last 20 minutes, when this happened, we were LIMPING around the track, just trying to rack up laps and be there when it was over.....

I am not whining, we loved it... just setting the record straight.  We will be MUCH more under control the come next entry...

Yeah you're probably right. We set our fastest lap in the last 4 laps of the race. Stay out of the way next time if you're going so slow.

They did.  They got a case of Mike's Hard Lemonade poured all over their car, ECU, and datalogger.

Blatent...and repeated contact aside, anyone who flips off another driver in a Lemons race just doesn't "get it", and should really consider not running next time.  If I recall at the driver's meeting a show of hands highlighted the fact that 1/2 the field had zero wheel to wheel experience.  Hell my only experience is 2 previous Lemons races.

How does someone get damage on the rear passenger side of their car from someone that's "in the way?"  Oh wait, you (or, rather, your team mate) dive in on them and then later say "stay out of the way."

Exactly....

except...

The flipper offer in question wasn't even IN the race....  he was just allowed on track..... whoa...

SO, double BS on that guy.... (the Spec Miata) I am glad Danny is a good sport or we might have been black flagged and tossed out...  not sure I would have  had the restraint that our driver showed.
