Topic: Decided on my 2010 Entry

OK,  Team Eau-Rude grew..   all the drivers want to return, plus...   we are going to campaign at least 3 cars for the 2010 races... maybe one race, maybe 2, maybe more... according to where and when we get accepted by Jay and crew..  Lamest Day for sure if/when it happens.

The name of my car is going to be BLOWGUN

anyone care to guess what I am going to do??   Specific Details are going to be withheld for ultimate crappiness development time...

but... I am such a loudmouth asshat so and so, that like Cat Stevens (or whatever he is calling himself these days)  I "cant keep it in"

My passion in automobile brand/model coupled with the name should tell ya what it is......

Close.....   oh my, that is even BETTER!!!!  but not for Lemons

But... the SHO is overdone.....   I was thinking blow in the Lemons version... ...  like this blows...    but I like the double entendre.....

Nope Jay Leno has a SHOgun.... and grassroot versions are popping up everywhere..

So many crappy FWD's to choose from...   what is the OLDEST Crappiest FWD set up you guys think I can find??   I mean, it wouldn't really be much of a challenge to cram an escort gt drivetrain in there now would it?  Suggestions?

how about leaving the front engine as an emergency spare??

NO, my passion is not NISSAN... (ugh)  I mean, i likem fine.... but WAY TOO common

Festivas and Suzukis    cram a broke ass swift drivetrain in a Festy and you would get a Festro and have the crappiness of TWO losermobiles

Nope.. I am looking for something way weirder to cradle into the back of a Festy.....

Saab Sonnet V-4, maybe converted to a Cologne V6?

Jim "Endo" Anderton
30 years of racing and still not Brambilla.....

Re: Decided on my 2010 Entry

I say the earliest Toronado you can find.... N/S this, E/W that, reliability eludes it... it's purrrrfect!!

Re: Decided on my 2010 Entry

I say you need an escort/civic/festiva frontend.. and an mr2 rear end... bolt them together and have awd via two engines..

My team doesnt like the idea, i think it's brilliant.

yeah..... I know.... it's hopeless... between the Sentra, the Festy, and now Danny Popps creation....  wow...

By the way, the fiero idea is VERY doable.. .I was just on my Festiva Forum (yes there IS one) and they were telling me how perfect a Fiero subframe fits into a hacked up Festy...

Oldest AND crappiest?  I zoomed in on the oldest bit and thought you had a Cord powertrain taking up space in your shop.

Re: Decided on my 2010 Entry

Find two (or three... youll need spares) Geo Metro 3-cyl turbos (also know as Chevy Metro, Pontiac Firefly) and put tow engines in one... Make it all wheel drive and all wheel steer...

What could possible go wrong?

Re: Decided on my 2010 Entry

You can get really terrible Citroën Traction-Avants for under a grand, so that's my guess for the "oldest, crappiest FWD setup" here. Remember, the end of the transmission lives about 1/2" behind the bumper on a Traction-Avant, so you don't want to hit anything.

Re: Decided on my 2010 Entry

hmmmmmmmm....  traction avant... wow...

WELL... I am still seeking...     gotta have a CHANCE at spares.......

The comment on oldest and crappiest was a plea for ideas just like that one.. now I have SCARED myself...

Might as well just cram a Citation drivetrain under it and leave it on the trailer..

Maybe I will go with something OTHER than old and crappy...

one way or another, it should be unique.... that's for sure...

NOW,  I just need to get it to beat Danny's C4 and the Sentra...
