Topic: HAHA, the BAAQMD wants the Porcubimmer!

Kris, the title holder of the porcubimmer just got a letter from the BAAQMD (Bay Area Air Quality Management District) offering $1000 to retire old Porky!

(we keep the car licensed so it can be flat towed to events if necessary)

Common concensus among the team is we demand $8000 or we'll keep driving it.  (We'll probably settle for half that.

(oh and we're also going to be getting "a couple hundred dollars" from the insurance company of the Jeep Wrangler driver that rear-ended the trailer carrying the car (on our way to the Buttonwillow race - LOL)

After we related the accident story to Jay he did tell us if we got anything from the insurance company that we could reinvest that into the car and it wouldnt count against us.

Funny thing was the car was more damaged from being towed to the event than it has been at two previous Lemons events (until team member Reid stuffed it into another E30 on Sunday)

heh

Great!  Now all I have to do is stage a collision and fake some paperwork to get enough legal funds to drop a 332 stroker and a Tremec into our E30.

Re: HAHA, the BAAQMD wants the Porcubimmer!

wait....does that mean that all those cars that are racing now that would have qualified for cash for clunkers are over budget by $3000-$4000 dollars?

It's not what the car is worth, it's what you paid to build it. Sometimes we have a hard time believing a team's numbers, but we don't care what CFC would have paid for the car.

Also, plenty of Crown Vics still out there, because CFC required that cars have been registered/insured for a full year prior to being turned in, plus the owner still had to come up with the rest of the money/credit to buy a new car.
