We're leaving in 8 days. Grab your passport and come watch the shenanigans. Or - bring that clapped out Chevy and we will crush you in our Barracuda.
I hear that the Barracuda's pink basecoat is on.
Stripes next!
More body work... I guess the rust holes were underestimated. We have a paint booth reserved at a friend of mine's shop. He will squirt it Wednesday.
promise.
We sanded and bondo'd that bitch all day. I'll be over tomorrow after work with camera gear to get some shots of it for everyone.
Regatta Blue?
White pearl w/ some blue accents & clear coat.
I hope it looks better than the 200 bucks we spent on paint.
The color I wanted was 1300 bucks. I asked the guy how it would hold up to asphalt, because more than likely this thing was going to end up on it's roof. That's when he showed me the 200 dollar paint...
Just put some casters on roof.
We'll be fine.

As you probably know, the 2013 Express Route Book has been posted on the official web site www.chihuahuaexpress.com.
The first part of the route book has the route for the "pre-qualificacion' or qualifying run on Thursday. After the qualifying run, the route book gives a good set of instructions for returning to the hotel via the toll road.
So, if you are coming into Chihuahua City from the north (El Paso), you might want to print out these instructions. Here's the link to the pages in English. You might want to check the Spanish version, too.

One word of warning: in the pre qualification run, there is a very dangerous corner toward the end of the run. I believe it is marked as a four in the book. Be very careful here. There is a steep hill just before the corner, and when you crest that hill, the turn is right there. It come up very quickly. So scrub off a little speed before you crest the hill and be ready for the right turn.
Also note, there is a rule against pre-running the route in a race car. Use your truck or a rental, please. The pre-qualification route is also a major truck route into and out of Chihuahua most of the day, so if you pre-run this road, be careful.

That left at the crest of the hill and then a sharp right does look kinda hairy in the route book:
What the hell is up with this tho?
