Topic: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

Well, well, well Datsun/Nissan fanboys, our Z = zero theory is still holding true.

The 24 Hours of Lemons Supreme Court says: You cannot win a Lemons race in a Datsun/Nissan Z car.

Why? Because they are too crappy.

And once again at Thunderhill we gave every single Z a rolling zero (a "rolling zero" is when we don't even let you hit your brakes when exiting tech inspection -- we just right Zero on your sheet and send you on your hopeless way). And once again, almost every Z blew the hell up. Very few actually finished the race.

For 2010 this policy remains in full effect. Bring a Z, cheat all you want (ping Troy for details) and we'll still give you zero BS laps.

Because you are a low-budget Sisyphus, pushing a pathetic pile of Japanese parts up a hill forever.

Update, from Judge Martin to the highest finishing Thunderhill Z team:

Judge Murilee wrote:

And you cracked the top 100 with your 99th-place finish!

That's right, Nissan Z fans, the top Z of the 2009 Arse Freeze-A-Palooza was beaten by a Plymouth Voyager minivan (66th place), a VW Beetle (65th place), a Ford Festiva (51st place), a Dodge Shadow (45th place), and a Cadillac Eldorado (62nd place).

Might I add: Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

"This is the scene where I get shot," Bronson said. "I have these little squibs that explode to make it look like bullets are hitting." "Fascinating," said Bergman. "I never knew how they did that." "You mean," asked Bronson, "you don't use machine guns in your movies?"

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

And no, putting Z emblems on a Supra does not make your car eligible for this special deal.

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

Team Flying Wrench will see ya'll back in Houston in February with our crappy
Z31 in tow Since we don't have to bribe you I guess you can consider the stuff we
bring you a gift.
Our Z was Travis' (co-driver) first car when he turned 16. I think my favorite part of the
weekend last time was when I told him you said all Z31's were pieces of shit, and this one
was worse then most. He looked me straight in the eye and said " I take offense to that".
I busted out laughing.
On a side note thanks for the compliment about Texas drivers in the Thunderhill/California
drivers suck thread. These forums are becoming good light entertainment when work is slow.

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

All i can say is that you good old boys in Tejas racked up 205 (or so) black flags with 134 cars and the California goons got 521 (really 571!!!) with 158 cars.

I'm a californian, and I take offense at that.

Edit: Zs suck

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

Yes, they suck, but we are a stubborn bunch.  We WILL be back with our "worst of the S30s" 260Z in 2010.  Maybe, just maybe, we will spend more time driving than wrenching.  Then again, who cares?  How many times have you said that going for the overall win isn't the most important part of Lemons???  We are simply out there trying to keep our pitiful Z cars running.

Think of it as the Index of Zeffluency!

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

We will finish higher I gaurantee you at the next event we had some hickups that were our own teams fault. Don't worry we'll prove the judges wrong at Sears Point. big_smile But thanks for the cheating OK. big_smile We will never win but we'll finish well. We already started working on the car to fix/improve it and it's only Tuesday.

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

So what EXACTLY is a Z? A Z chassis w/ alternate motor? A Z motor swap into, say, a 62 Mini?

Just wondering...

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

Cant wait to get to Phoenix and show you just what a Z can do!! We dont even need to cheat to get it done. You will see. We are open to all side bets as well, anyone game?? We need to make some $$$ to pay for our gas.....

Team Underground top 3 at Phoenix after Saturday and #1 after Sunday, and you heard it here.

We'll know a true Z when we see one.

Why hasn't anyone done a Black Gold 280ZX theme yet? Just glue black and gold glitter on the car in the appropriate design, grow herpes-enhancing mustaches, wear polyester leisure suits, and crank disco at all times: super-contender for Organizer's Choice!

We were hoping to go with a UFO style deal since we already have that ginormous wing and dress up like space aliens. More fun than previously.

Team Underground will probably beat us to the punch of winning an event but can you imagine a one, two Z car finish. WOOOOOWWWWWWW. Get ready.

HAHAHAHA

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

We keep pleading with Team Underground to switch to a different type of car, since the masochism displayed by hauling that horrible car around the country is painful to watch. Instead, they just get more obsessed with the impossible dream of making a Z take the overall win.

We know we can't win but think we've got what it takes to take top 10. Especially with this rule. HAHAHA. Just give us a bit we are still basking in our 99th place finish. GLOWING IN FACT. We were jsut happy to finish considering in Fernley we only got 34 laps.

As we told you in Houston we are planning on bringing it all the way to Miami this next season if we havent won one by then, Houston was just to close to us being only 1500 miles away! And we are NOT switching cars until we win with the Z. When we do that we will find the next car that you guys say will never win a race and do the same with that one smile

I love Lemons!!!

Re: Z = Zero still in full effect for 2010

After winning with a Z: try the MR2 or SHO challenge.

MR2s would work a lot better with the radiator on the roof instead of right in front of a wall.  Toyota really screwed that one up.

An MR2 will win it one day.

Z? Never.

SHO... someone needs to drop the SHO's Yamaha dream engine into a ZX.

All problems solved -- get wrenching.
