We won the IOE at Southern Discomfort.
We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

They are actually more of a shelter, but they have a concrete floor, lights, and power.  Well worth the money in my opinion.

Seriously?  CMP has rental garages - $125 for the weekend.  For those of us who don't like to lay on the ground while changing oil or trying to find that crank key that your teammate dropped in the grass.

The whole time we were working in the mud at Nelson Ledges I was thinking "If we were at CMP, this would be a lot easier/dryer/nicer"

You can do like the WRC guys do, spread a tarp on the ground, drive the car on it. No more looking for dropped stuff in the grass/dirt etc.

Re: We R in! Southern discomfort!

Thanks for letting us know about this cheap PIT addition! I got one, and there were only 2 left after my rental. Is this only a night/break time work area or do you do driver changes at the front of the garage during the race? We have only done Stafford this year, first time at CMP.

this is now your pit area my friend.  you will have exclusive parking the width of your garage stall and probably 75' out from there in front of your stall.

last event at CMP the HOT PIT was to be used for driver changes and fueling only.  fueling was also only done with driver out of car.

soooo, if you needed to check tire pressures, adjust camera angles, add ice to cool suit contraptions, check oil........etc, etc.  you went to your pit.

as the lane in front of the garages is live, i would suggest you pull into your stall to do whatever it is that you need to do to your car.

after you experience CMP, i see no reason why you would ever want to run anywhere else. smile  well check that, Moroso sounds simply enchanting.

we are in 1-3, stop on by.

whatever it was i didn't do it

Re: We R in! Southern discomfort!

We pulled the head out of the coROLLa at midnight last time, but I'm not sure we would have done that if we were on grass.  The garages have good lighting.   Add in cold temperatures, and the garages are that much nicer.  smile
