Fortunately none were for contact or affected anyone but ourselves. We take full responsibility for our screwups, and thank the judges for being stern but fair. Judge Matt, let me know if you hear back from Herr Roy!
Same here, 6 races, 2 very minor black flags
Saturday alone we got called in 4 times.
only 1 of them we actually knew the offence they were talking about (speeding in pits, passing under yellow). On the 4th one we were livid, and they tried to shut us down for the day and during arguing turns out they called in the wrong car. 669 vs 696. I'm wondering if any of the other calls were confused as well.
We wound up in the penalty box for an hour on Sunday morning for this.
Very upsetting but we sucked it up and continued racing.
The drivers this weekend were INSANELY BAD. There were so many slow cars occupying the entire track and I swear trying to kill us. Our car is literally 100hp short of all the other cars at our speed so traffic is always an issue, but this weekend it was so insanely bad.
During a full course yellow someone near me was getting black flagged and after 2 laps of this I figured out it was the car behind me. I literally stopped on the track in front of the guy standing on the grass waving with his car number out and pointed to him, dude behind me finally saw and pulled off.
Oh, did anyone else notice that the flagger on the top of the hill (turn 5 area) was completely inattentive on Saturday? I crested that hill to see a PARKING LOT and almost died, I looked over to see if I missed a yellow flag and the girl was staring at her cell phone facing the other way. A few more times she didn't have her flag out when there were cars in the grass and a few times she's turned around talking to a friend. I"m noticing this stuff, as a driver. That's bad. I don't want to complain but this is a safety issue.
We have always left the races feeling very excited but after this race it was more of a "thank god we survived"
Jay's speech was right on point, it was bad out there. Annoyed at our punishment but it's understood. It's part of racing and what's needed to be done to keep us safe.
Yay Lemons!
