Topic: New England - Need BBQ?

After failing to get together a team to race (half my team got laid off, no jobs no $$) I decided to come down to CT from NH to be a spectator.  I run a weekend BBQ catering business and was thinking I could bring down my smoker trailer if there is a team that would be interested in a big bbq meal ready to eat at race end.  If anyone is interested drop me an email at jason (at) n0m4d (dot) com.

Better clear that with the PTB.  While it sounds great to me and I'd want some, the track officials might be peeved about someone competing with their concessions stand.

Re: New England - Need BBQ?

I have never been involved in this event, either as a participant or a spectator so maybe I misunderstood the typical going-ons.  My intent was not to be a vendor or compete with a concession stand in any way.  I had the impression that during the off-race hours Saturday evening there is a good deal of beveraging, eating and general debauchery that goes on.  If the track is providing concessions during that period then I would retract my offer as not to compete with them.  Basically, I'm coming down to watch and I have a giant bbq cooker in my driveway that I can bring with me easy enough.  My thoughts were if a team who was interested in having me hang out and cook up some bbq for them, I could.  I don't want to make a big deal out of it, just wanted to throw the offer out there. cool

Re: New England - Need BBQ?

I am happy to announce that Team Trailing Throttle Oversteer will be hosting this wonderful BBQ, held just outside of the pit area, subject to when the Track Concession Stands close down.

We haven't worked out the logistics yet, but for budget purposes, we won't be treating this like a Sizzler, with the exception of the judges and track staff members.

Anyone participating at Stafford, please comment below, and let me know what you are craving at a typical BBQ (Puled Pork, Burgers, Brats, Lobster Tail, Corn, Kebabs, whatever) and we will let you know how it's going to work.

Re: New England - Need BBQ?

At most tracks BYOBBQ is totally cool, but at Stafford there is a no-BBQ-in-the-paddock rule. Kinda hard to explain the layout, but there is an outer area separated from the main paddock where they tell us it's cool to BBQ.

Re: New England - Need BBQ?

And it's only about a 50 yard walk from paddock, no biggie.  If you're hitting the portapottie, it's another 10 yards to the "outer area".
