We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

Re: Themes you'd like to see done

I just thought of a neat theme to do, particularly if you have a Datsun or Nissan.  Paul Newman raced 'em, and was also in the cult classic Slap Shot.  So slap together some Hanson brother costumes, mash-up the BRE livery and Charleston Chiefs colors, and bingo-bango there's your theme!

Cuban Taxi Service

Fiat 128, Lada (good luck) or any early "boxy" Japanese car. Taxi theme. Everyone on the team must dress like Castro (with cigar & hat) but wearing a flowered hawaiian shirt.

Bonus points for driving a CoCo in the pits.

Same theme, use a Checker or any mid-50's pre-embargo car instead.

Similar turn of theme, use an early Volvo Amazon or late-70's fullsize pickup.

We have an upcoming new theme for the winter race.

It may, very well, be the 'ultimate theme'.
So disturbing, horrible and yet fascinating.
Will incite paddock rage, riot and jealousy...

Only two outcomes if implemented:

Instant legend or lifetime ban.

I'm working out the details.

Bass-Ackwards Racing...swap all the body panels so the car looks like its driving in reverse.  Or hell, go all the way and rig it up so you actually do drive the ass end of the car up front.

After seeing another one of your posts in a different thread, we may both be working on the same ( or very similar) theme.  I thought it up during Southern Discomfort and I have been following this thread very closely hoping no one would do it before we had a chance to it.  I thought the same thing - either instant legends or lifetime ban.

PM me if you want to see if we are both on the same track.

This series needs more BROUGHAM and more Landaulet.

If your car is already a Brougham, you need to cut the rear roof off and fold that vinyl back Landaulet style for maximum class.

If it's an E30 or civic, it needs to be "Brough'd out".

I have actually tried to push this idea on my team for awhile, except using a body on frame car and just flipping the whole body on the frame.

Lucky for them our next victim...um...project is a unibody and Im not that motivated after everything I had to do with the wartburg.  They keep reminding me the new one is the "easy" car.  Just a "simple" motor swap.  I've spoiled them, after the 'burg everything seems "simple"

I'm thinkin an 80's G body GM rwd would fit the bill nicely.

Re: Themes you'd like to see done

I think that the Unintended Acceleration team ran an Audi 90 that they rebodied so that it had a hood and front fenders on the back too. Apparently they swapped ends so many times in their first race that they figured that if the car looked like it was going forward after it swapped ends, maybe they would get out of a black flag or two. Don't know if it worked but it was entertaining to see.

Re: Themes you'd like to see done

the Double Jeopardy Fiero in the April Gingerman race had 2 noses. also got an award... was it heroic fix? after they cascaded that iron duke from 4 to 3 to 2 to 1 cylinder

they finally gave up and got it back to 2 cylinders iirc. sounded like a righteous lawn tractor on the front straight, going the speed appropriate 12mph.
