Topic: options for helmets with no HANS mounting?

I have a Simpson Bandit that is SNELL2010 rated but has no HANS mounting points. Its almost brand new and I didn't want to buy another. Any options for using this with a HANS?

Re: options for helmets with no HANS mounting?

Yea you drill the holes and use the backing plates that come with the anchor kit.

Just make sure you get the anchor kit with the plates since they sell them both ways now.

Make sure it is Snell SA2010 and not M2010 or something else.  There are youtube videos on how to drill the holes.

Will 2010s still be good after this season?

NJMP '11--#132 (Speedycop), NJMP '12 to '16--#215 (Philthy Motorsports), NJMP '16--#75 Most Heroic Fix, NJMP '17--#75 (still drying out), NJMP '18--#75, NHMS '18 - #75 Datsun 510

They sent this out in January 2015:

SA2005 GOES AWAY FOR 2016
Snell made some critical safety improvements between the SA2005 and SA2010 helmet specs. And since this year (2015) will be the last one when SA2005s are legal, we very strongly recommend upgrading to a new SA2010 or SA2015 unit now. People with smaller heads are particulary at risk with the SA2005 spec, so don't wait any longer--it's time to move up.

So basically they gave us a year after the SA2015 came out.
