Topic: Brake and Fuel Lines

We removed and replaced the brake and fuel lines on our build since our donor car is a real piece of .......  The factory clips that held the brake and fuel lines to the undercarriage are toast so we're trying to figure out our options for securing the new ones.  Any issues with using something like zip ties to hold them in place?

Re: Brake and Fuel Lines

We have had good luck putting in Riv-nuts and then bolting down a zip-tie anchor to the chassis. Then we ran a zip tie around the lines and anchor. I would recommend putting a second zip tie perpendicular between each line and around the main zip tie to keep the lines from rubbing and vibrating through each other. Kind of like how they did it here with spark plug wires: https://images.app.goo.gl/Y2D7v6QEYyH6ZxYo8 obviously you can replace the riv nuts with just nuts if you can reach the other side of the panel, but in our case it was into an enclosed frame rail.

The proper way to do tubing clamps is this:

You can use a screw or pop rivet.

This is awesome advice and super helpful!  Thanks!

We usually get our LOKMAN SS clamps at one of the big box home improvement stores...L or HD.
