Topic: Want to help test out a new dash cam at Road Atlanta?

I'm going to have two or three dash cams that I want to test out.  They are from a company that has recently started selling cameras here in the US (they have been selling in Europe for years).  The company is called Nextbase.  Here is a link to their Amazon store.

Bit of a long story why I have them, but I can fill you in on that if you want to help test these out (short story is it's for my work).   They can either hardwire in through a kit they come with (does a piggyback on existing fuse), or a 12V outlet if your racecar just happens to have one of those.  I will also have a few rear facing modules that can be added to the cameras for a view out the back too.  I can hand you the cameras and hardwire kit on Friday and I'll need them back after the race.  You will not be financially liable for them if something horrible happens during the race, so no worries.

Good news is they're getting into the motorsports world, similar to GoPro.  You can probably get a nice discount if you wanted to buy one, but more to come on that.  And no, I do not work for them.

Let me know if you'd like to test out a camera.

Do we get some footage? I'll mount one! #343 blue/gray/white Buick Grand National

Re: Want to help test out a new dash cam at Road Atlanta?

Yes, absolutely.  You're welcome to have all of the footage, it's yours.  I'll just ask you give some to me, especially anything interesting/fun/scary/crazy...as it's potentially going to be used as marketing for Nextbase.  They will automatically "lock" in any incidents it senses. These cameras may also be sold via the Lemons store in the near future, so this is potentially a dry run for that.  They are Bluetooth enabled, so besides pulling the SD card, you can grab the video directly from your phone if you're within Bluetooth range.

If I don't find you guys, come grab me in Lemons HQ on Friday.  I will likely be there a good part of the day, as I'm helping out.  My name is Steve.

Can these live stream ?  (RTMP client in the camera OS ?,  like the YI )

The parking aids and alexa integration should be awesome for road racing :-)

We stream all we can, the YI's are good when they are good.. and then..

Good discussions here too on all this
