Topic: Proof of purchase

I can't find a thread on how to prove the price for everything. Is a bill of sale enough for the car? What about parts? What is the best way to prove the car is under $500 all in? I just feel like it would be so easy to fake a bill of sale. We are determined to follow all of the rules and play the game hard. I just don't want to get cheated during the inspection. I see all the posts about how documentation is key but do the emails from this random guy I found on craigslist really count?

Say it is and look believable.

Re: Proof of purchase

First, what's the hooptie you're looking to run?

As everyone has said umpteen times, if you're racing to win with _that_ look in your eye, you'd better cross your i's and dot your t's.

However, if you're at the track with some well-patinaed piece that's been dragged out from under a Montana ex-barn and never seen a track before...and when you go to rockauto.com and all you can find is spark plugs and valve stems... there'll be a bit more leeway.
