Topic: Covering Firewall Holes

I used the search function to locate whether this issue had been previously discussed and didn't find anything. If someone reads this and knows it has been discussed beforehand, please share the thread.
Regarding the task of covering the firewall holes due to A/C hoses, heater core hoses, and other components that have been removed, is it acceptable, from a Lemon Technical perspective, to rivet old license plates over the holes?

Re: Covering Firewall Holes

Any kind of metal can be used but steel or aluminum are most common. In addition I'd get some aluminum tape. The type they sell in the HVAC section of your local home improvement store and seal the gaps left.

Re: Covering Firewall Holes

Passed tech this year in our VW with all holes sealed with pieces of license plates.

Appreciate the feedback. Will proceed with the plates and use the aluminum tape to cover the overlap gaps.
