1993 Ford Probe GT 2.5 V6 w/ 5 speed manual transmission
For sale: $3500, located in north Phoenix, Arizona

I’ve lost interest in this project and have too many cars, motorcycles and go-karts already, so I’m not looking for any trades.

Recommend replacing transmission (read below) but this is turn-key and everything is up-to-date. Sold “as is” on bill of sale only. Has check engine lights only for EGR, IACV and EVAP delete. Body damage on passenger side (does not affect door opening or closing). Underbody is clean and rust free; original southwest car.

Safety:
Pagel/Evil Genius cage built Dec 2015 (have invoice and I already forwarded Pagel pictures; he said cage should not need any updates).
Stroud fire suppression (new bottle as of March 2022; bottle is good for 6 years but the certification must be re-done every 2 years per Lemons)
Schroth 6pt harness (expires 2023)
Kirkey aluminum seat with back brace installed
Car was gone through in Feb 2022 by local race shop (We Don’t Lift Racing) and replaced: timing belt/water pump/tensioner, radiator/cap/thermostat, knock sensor, re-gasketed motor to fix any oil leaks and vacuum hoses to fix vacuum leaks.

“Cheaty” bits:
Mazda KL-ZE JDM engine (200hp instead of 165hp USDM). Confirmed it has the proper stamping on cams and heads. Currently has USDM intake manifold (slightly less hp than the JDM intake but makes more torque). Good compression (195-200psi on all 6 cylinders IIRC)
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
Unorthodox lightweight crank pulley
3-1 headers (sounds amazing)
Coilovers and camber plates front and rear
Mazdaspeed6 front brakes
Included: generous spares package (~12 totes full of spare parts plus factory service manual, fenders; hood; control arms; knuckles/hubs; steering racks; belts, brakes; 10 total wheels: 4x Motegi TrakLite wheels with 215/40-17 Falken Azenis and 6x Ford Mustang wheels with 245/45-17 Falken Azenis), etc.

History & reason for sale:
Car was last run in Lemons around 2018. I bought the car last summer from NorCal area with the intent of running at INDE/Wilcox Lemons race here in AZ but that event was canned (low turnout at previous event?) and there’s no AZ Lemons race in the foreseeable future. I’ve done two shake-down DE events since I bought the car. This most recent event I blew a small (1”) hole in the diff housing on the trans (firewall and steering rack is covered in Redline MT-90 fluid). Despite the hole in trans, car still runs and drives great; I don’t know what ejected from inside the trans but it shifts fine and runs through all of the gears. No grinds or pop-outs.
