Topic: eBay Finds of the Week, 08/03 - The Exceedingly Weird Edition™

Last week was all old stuff. This week is a super eclectic mix of Lemons-ready crap.

Your Find of the Week Winner: A Fiero F355 Spyder Kit Car in Sandy, UT - We've had a WTF40, time for a WTF355! The seller definitely has a type.

1966 Sunbeam Imp in Altoona, PA - F1-pedigree engine! Rootes Group! Instant IOE contention.

1956 Packard "The Four Hundred" in Moultrie, GA - Seller claims (apocryphally) that the engine only has 25 miles on it.

1988 Subaru XT-6 in Salem, OR - We've only ever had one XT and it was a four. Surely, the six-cylinder is primed to dominate and this one even has coilovers on it already!

1973 Ford Maverick in Greenfield, IN - Might have to hang the body panels on...something else. Would guess there's a tiny bit of rot, BUT it would be Lemons' first Maverick!

1953 Dodge Coronet BARN FIND in Delano, MN - Anecdotally, I'm pretty sure that Iowa, Minnesota, the Dakotas, and Nebraska are largely unpicked for barn finds like this. You'll need to kill all the hantavirus in this one, which won't take an insignificant amount of time, but at least after hosing it off, you'll be able to tell what color it was originally.

1962 Cadillac DeVille in Anderson, TX - Would need a weight waiver (~4600 pounds), but as you can see in the background, the seller has all kinds of 50+ year-old stuff.

1970 Triumph GT6+ in Islip Terrace, NY - ENDS SOON and is basically the smallest car that'll pass the wheelbase test.

Isn't the Imp posted above at exactly 82" wheelbase versus the GT6+ at 83.8" according to the internets?

Rootes group cars with original powerplant have a 100% IOE record, prove me wrong.

I can steer whoever to best places to find Imp parts if anybody decides to take the leap.  Yes, the Imp is 82", GT6 is 83.

Loooove the Imp!  Always wanted one to bastardize.... er, modify.... and bomb around town.  But they're always so far away (10-hour drive one-way, nope) and I'm already neck deep in another all-consuming project build.  Dang.

Anybody from the East Coast headed towards Chicago with an empty trailer in the next few weeks?  smile

Re: eBay Finds of the Week, 08/03 - The Exceedingly Weird Edition™

I know I'm sick, twisted, whatever... The XT and XT6 has been a bucket list car for me since the mid-80s.  Obviously, THE one to have is the XT with the digital dash, but beggars can't be choosers.  These things are virtually non-existent now.  The ones that do remain are all on the west coast.  I get it, cars rust in the northeast, but they don't in the southeast.  Why aren't any down here???

Why does the missing bumper guard on the Dodge give me the impression it’s flipping us off?
