The LTD is back on the ground.  Its got 4 new tires, a dual exhaust, is lean, mean, low and ready to go.

Lean?  Does that mean you are under 4,000 lbs.?

Well, seeing as how we removed 6 or 7 big black trash bags worth of water-soaked carpet, velour, foam, etc from the interior and trunk of the car, and each one of those bags weighed at least 50 pounds when I heaved it into my pickup, and the LTD Landau weighed about 4300 pounds brand new...No, its still over 2 tons, I'm pretty sure.  We did have to add a cage.

We did remove the driver's side front wheel well liner, but not the passenger side, and relocated the battery to the trunk, on the passenger side.  We're going for equal weight distribution, you know. The battery is the 1000CCA unit used in my Dodge Cummins.  It comes with a complimentary lifting belt.

Did somebody say brakes? What are those?  Disco balls...that's what we need more of!

Our teams braking issue has been solved with a Danforth Anchor Emergency Brake System. Just trying to decide how much rope to use for the proper scope angle. Any suggestions?

Our wager took a positive turn tonight and it looks like the NSF'ers have a racecar afterall.  We fired the old girl up tonight and took her for a spin around the parking lot at NSF International Racing Headquarters +/- 300 yards.  Good enough.  There is still a stumble when we rev the engine and we just about blew off the air breather on a back fire thru the intake; but you have to take the good with the bad.  It starts, stops and moves under it's own power.

No theme, just a sad disco ball in the trunk.

Our car should arive in the camp sometime  6ish Friday AM.

The door itself has a side impact beam larger than the unibody on our old Volvo.  There's also like 16 inches between the outer door skin and the driver's seat.
