Topic: Reno Fernley Track Layout

From what I can tell of the layout that has been circulating for Goin' For Broken... I think this is an accurate video of our track.

I HIGHLY suggest that you ALL follow his EXACT line.  See you at the finish line smile

Re: Reno Fernley Track Layout

The 2nd half of Config B is a little different. The Lemons Reno page at http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/events/reno09/ links to http://www.jagpromotions.com/images/rfrLeMonscourse.jpg

which is not quite config B.

That video is the same layout 'til about 1:55, when he turns off to the right.

In this video I shot last year on Memorial Day weekend you can follow it a little further than the top post's video.  Then at 2:40 we'll be turning left at the bottom of the hill to cut over to the main straight.

Hopefully we won't have the heavy rains for this race that we had last year as the mud just sloshes across the track.  So far the forecast looks like low 80's!  <fingers crossed>

Wow, watching that video with the constant water and focus changes is like racing after way, way, way too much caffeine.

Re: Reno Fernley Track Layout

Haha!  Maybe I'll change my user name to OverCaffeinated!

I used a helmet cam strapped to my roofrack, so that's why it keeps getting wet (and why there's no live audio as it was just wind noise).

Re: Reno Fernley Track Layout

Are there going to be chicanes on this track?  Presumably halfway down each straight, but it'd be good to know.  If our car is actually going to have to go fast, we may have to change a few things.

In general, we never hit more than 80-90 mph at Thunderhill.

That being said, the few people that tried to go two wide through the final chicane at Thill bumped it out enough over the course of the day that we never had to slow down for it.  101 was our top speed at turn 1 if the chicane was umm... ineffective
