My wife and I have a long-standing dispute. We have a '99 GMC Suburban, and I refer to it as "the truck". My wife insists I'm wrong and that it's not a truck, it's "the Suburban", and that it can only be a "truck" if it's a pickup.
Opinions?
Title says truck, it has truck plates. Also less syllables.

A pickup is a truck like a square is a rectangle.
A Suburban is a truck, in the absence of a pickup or grain truck, like a rectangle is a rectangle.
Not all rectangles are squares but all squares are rectangles...unless it is a parallelogram. Is your Suburban new enough to be a parallelogram (aka, alternate mommy mobile if she is too butch for a minivan)?

I owned an older "burban" (1987) a 2500 BB V8 mode. It would tow anything you hitched up to it without issues but loaded or empty, or with a trailer attached it rode like an "old" truck! In fact I've rode in old trucks that rode better!.

what I learned, wife always right. Even when she calls a truck a suburban. Which is the model name of it anyways. So... yup

It's a "Crummy"
When I had a summer job in the forest products industry(Logging) the crew got transported to the landing in a Suburban, AKA "The Crummy".
Seeing it after a season of driving on logging roads, hauling guys w/ muddy caulk boots, eating breakfast on the trip up the hill, and snacks back down, you'd understand.

Not without putting down plastic! If that is your definition, the old Escort Pony we just scrapped is a truck. The original owner hauled his riding mower in the back...more than once.
