Topic: Garage Lift Solution

Does anyone use an at-home car lift solution? I was looking at MaxJax, which seems to work well in low clearance garages and is removable for day-to-day convenience. Price isn't horrible at $2000, but wondering what other "Lemons Budget" solutions are out there. Creative ideas are always welcome!

Re: Garage Lift Solution

There are also Quickjacks and a few other brands.  These are a bit less money and are a bit more portable.

I just got the 5000lb quickjacks they are awesome, work very well easy to store, and cheaper.  Lifts the car about 23 inches.

Each one is about 100lbs and has small wheels to move it around.  They really aren't bad.  Nice to be able to bring them to the track.

Re: Garage Lift Solution

Thanks for those replies. While I haven't seen the QuickJack live, I've looked at them online. I was a little worried about stability for items that weren't secured to the floor/ground. Didn't know how "tippy" they'd be.

They have a significantly larger footprint than jack-stands so I wouldn't worry about it.  I have also seen them where it is one large central lift with arms that extend to the four jacking points.  Not sure on the brand though, could have been homemade.

The HF scissor lift works great if you don't have the clearance and or budget for a full-rise 2-post.  Here's one that belongs to my teammate:

They have a very large footprint and are heavy (100lbs each side), once the car is up on it (properly) they aren't going anywhere.

Re: Garage Lift Solution

Quickjacks are decent but for a higher lift the MaxJax is very, very nice. I got mine on sale online from Costco for $1800.

Re: Garage Lift Solution

I just bought an eagle lift last week. Shipped to my work via freight it was 1600, had another 200 in hooking it up and putting oil in it.

Should have done it a very long time ago.

Re: Garage Lift Solution

Thanks for your posts. The Eagle lift looks like a nice option too. I just need to make sure I have clearance for the towers. It is not removable though, from the looks of it. Compromises.....
