Topic: Tow Rig Storage at Barber for the Rally

Trying to make plans for next year, assuming Lemons uses the same schedule for the Retreat From Moscow rally. Has anyone ever made arrangements with Barber to store a truck and trailer there for the week leading up to the race? The idea is we'd drop off the tow rig at the track the weekend before, drive the racecar to rally start, do the rally, and then do the race without having to worry about how to get everything back home to Texas if we puke transmission guts or get spatula'd onto our roof.

Re: Tow Rig Storage at Barber for the Rally

I would think you might be better off finding a rental yard/storage yard and negotiating with them.  Barber is a high class facility and might not be interested unless they have a new constructions area/lot/laydown yard that is not for public consumption.  That last part also brings up the tree service, construction company, etc group of companies that have large parking areas that are normally only 70% utilized.

Call and ask if they'll let you drop the rig in Lot G, where we park before the allowed entry time. It's a big area where they have various construction storage. It's inside the facility main gates, so reasonably safe.

Three years later they still have "mostly" gravel and construction equipment there?  Jeez, project(s) must be run by city government workers!
