Topic: Full team looking to shadow/wrench in NJ before our car is done

We are a full team (7-9 depending on who can get free for a full weekend), all in our 20's, all guys. Our car won't be done by NJ, we're hoping we'll start racing at Thompson, but we would like to shadow a team for most of the weekend in NJ. Most of us are tolerable wrenches and cooks. Not much driving experience between us but we're not really looking for a ride, just to see how a race weekend plays out. Let me know if you have any questions. We're FMC Racing on facebook. The one with the guys pulling the motor out of the rusty VW Fox. We were stalking the paddock on Sunday at Louden last year.

Why won't your car be ready?

We won the IOE at Southern Discomfort.
We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

The amount of work to be done and the time we have to do it, there are bunch of logistical challenges too. Plus, Thompson is 20 minutes from our car, good to have home base nearby when something inevitably goes wrong.

Re: Full team looking to shadow/wrench in NJ before our car is done

we will be fielding 2 cars this year for the may jersey race. Teams are full but your always welcomed in our pits to check out our builds and talk racing with the crews

Re: Full team looking to shadow/wrench in NJ before our car is done

Feel free to come hang out and give us a hand.  We run 2 cars and usually have at least 1 break for a little while, rare we don't get it back out though.  Team Glue Sticks orange, white, and blue cars.

You will find everyone in Lemons is very friendly and loves talking about their experience.  Also no shortage of a team trying to figure out an issue if you have good mechanical knowledge.

Re: Full team looking to shadow/wrench in NJ before our car is done

If you are coming down, be sure to stick around Saturday night.  The wrenching that is going on overnight to get the cars back on track is usually epic.  In fact, feel inspired and/or humbled that there are teams that are doing more work in one night to get back on track than you might be in total.

As others stated, feel free to introduce yourself, hang out, and ask questions - we have the plaid mustang.

+1 to Rob, we always enjoy helping introduce and educate people to the sport.  We have 4 cars in this plus some associated teams and have a good idea of how this works after 30 something races.   Please stop by and ask for Chris and remind my of this thread.  It is hard not to find us, 3 pedal mafia.

Three Pedal Mafia: IOE > Overall
Wartburg | Wagovan | The Boat | Rolls Royce | Civic Giraffe | Citroen SM | TR7 3800SC | Cressida | Isuzu Hombre
Some IOEs, class wins, org choices, heroic fixes, I got screwed's, etc.

Not sure if the plan is the same, but these guys and girl (s) are usually wrenching / partying/ hot tubbing in the big common garage.
