Does Gingerman have cooties or something?
Nope but the western Midwest teams race there twice a year. One race at Gingerman is NOT on fourth of July week/weekend and neither is the first HPR race...this not that complex.
Being the weekend before the 4th of July seems like a bonus, not a flaw to me. Especially given the weather last fall at Gingerman.
Last year was, what, 80-90 cars for both races? I'm fine with less traffic this time around. It gives us more space to sort out our own shit...lol. We will always hit up Gingerman, because it's 45 mins. away.
Yea more open track is a bonus for sure.
Yea there's a Nelson Ledges Chump race the same weekend which is splitting a lot of the eastern teams since a lot of people have been itching to get back on Nelson.
Not sure how the HPR race effects people though, it's really far away.
Are there teams really driving 14+ hours to go to Gingerman?
I'm coming out from NJ, roughly 12 hours.
By my rough count, there seems to be 80 teams going to Gingerman.
So mostly just not forum members. I knew the percentage here was small, but jeeze, less than 25%
No wonder people still keep failing tech.

I will be pleasantly surprised if that ends up the case. You are counting the number of reserved car numbers I assume?
Proximity to the 4th of July is what killed it for us. Family stuff.

Are there teams really driving 14+ hours to go to Gingerman? No, there are teams driving 7-14 hours to go to HPR instead of 3-7 hours to go to Gingerman. I know of three personally.
Some of us drove nearly 20 hours for the HPR race!
The Ecto Cougar will be there.
Unit32 will be there with our crappy red Jetta!! Just need to put the car back together, but there's plenty of time for that on Thursday. We have a new and improved helicopter sound with a dash of "Pack of John Deere's" which sounds like a blown Hemi missing a few cylinders and a tooth off exhaust note designed to impress.
