Re: WANTED: Boat for Great Lakes

Back to the search....
And look what I just found

https://annarbor.craigslist.org/cto/d/1 … 80364.html

Very similar....1970s....so fewer points...not that it matters much.
Looks ok from photos.
Talked to the guy...seemed honest.
Car runs...takes a few times to start.
He drives it up to 90mph and shops with it at Walmart....

Said interior is good.
He changed to electronic ignition (?)...not sure what that entails....down side or up side...

Anyone around Detroit, Saginaw area?
I'd be fine just paying asking price, repay you for your fuel, and give you lunch money!

Re: WANTED: Boat for Great Lakes

Strich Acht Rally Racers comin' at ya!

From Wikipedia:

Beginning in 1968, Mercedes marketed their model range as New Generation Models,[2] giving their ID plates the designation '/8' (due to their 1968 Launch year). Because they were the only truly new cars of the so-called 'New Generation' and because of the '/8' or 'slash eight' designation, W114 and W115 models ultimately received the German nickname Strich Acht, loosely translated into the English stroke eight.

Looks like the 1972 Mercedes "Bends" 250 model will be the ride of choice!  (wife pressured me into this one....maybe next year I'll go for a true Land Yacht...and leave the wife at home!!!!.....although she is being very helpful with the accommodations and making reservations)

Anyways, sounds a bit rusty, but so far sounds like it runs....not that I've seen or heard it....

Incredible thanks and gratitude to the Chicago, Detroit Lemons teams (OnkelUdo, et al.) for making this happen, and putting up with my indecisiveness and last minute decision making....
