Topic: SPA fire suppression group buy

Hey Guys and Gals. This probably will be deleted. I did it on Facebook first, though maybe I should not exclude this community.
I am organizing a group buy for the fire suppression systems, SPA FIA18-L4S, if you interested let me know. I am in process of collecting money at this point.

Re: SPA fire suppression group buy

A group buy makes sense when quantity yeilds a much lower price and shipping isn't significant,
this does not seem to apply in this situation.

With the quantity we getting a discount. So it does work out. Since its new rule in play a lot of people need this, so a group buy works out.

Re: SPA fire suppression group buy

When you say lower price what are you talking? I get my fire suppression locally and for a pretty good price.

Re: SPA fire suppression group buy

We've got two cars we need to put systems in. I'd be interested in finding out more for sure.

Re: SPA fire suppression group buy

Q: Is there any place in/near the SFBAY area that can refill and recertify the SPA systems?

The only pricing I could find was for Pegasus Systems @ $89-99 + $33 shipping

you can check the spa website for the dealers.

I believe the service centers can provide the service you require. Give them a call, and see how much they charge.

Re: SPA fire suppression group buy

Note that not all of the dealers are service centers.

The closest service center to us on the east coast is Stable Energies Motorsports in NJ. IIRC, they charged us $105 + shipping + whatever I spent to ship it to them.

OK. Thanks.

I just emailed Competition Touring Cars and will see what they say (they are at Sears Point).

Here is their reply:

Yes we service and stock SPA AFFF systems

I would need to know the size of your bottle 2.25L , 3.75L or 4L (should be on the label)

And the only other unknown is the dip tube inside the bottle, there are a few evolution's, if your bottle needs an update its a $54-76 additional charge (depending on bottle size)

Worst case with tax if it is a 4L with an update needed is $257.22

Bottom Line, with a new 4L system as per the Group Buy, it probably won't need this new dip tube update. Therefore, you are looking at ~$180 for servicing in the SFBAY area for the SPA bottle.
