Yes the ABA conversion in that respect was easy, the bolt holes on the ABA block for the Fox engine mounts were there already, just needed to be tapped out.  These VWs really go together like legos.  there is always a way to make stuff work

Unless they put it into a wall its unlikely, Car has 15+ Lemons races on it, its good.  yeah I had a hard time and did about 7 motors and trannys but the ABA was infinitely better than the stock 1.8 garbage that was in it.

I'm gonna say good luck.
We (The Flying Lumberjacks) race the other VW fox out in the PNW, but ours is a much cooler station wagon.
The 2P transmission (from mid 80's Audi) is glass and in very short supply.  The stock trans gearing is so wide as to be practically useless on the track.
We (and I mean "I") am currently swapping in a 012 trans from a B5 Passat.  The hard part is finding axles that will fit, that is after enlarging the trans tunnel, making custom mounts for everything, custom modified wheel hubs, and a completely custom shifter and shifting mechanism.  I will be spending time on the lathe and mill making adapters for whatever shorter axles we come up with.
If they ever come up here we'll love racing against them!
