Topic: Team Sputnik needs wrenchers/drivers in DC/Baltimore area

subj.

We have some interesting projects, a reliable and reasonably quick car, and good people. If you're in Baltimore/DC area, come join us! The garage where we build stuff is right off of 695&95, close to Heavy Seas brewery *wink wink*. Need people who like forming metal into meaningful shapes.

Also, now taking in drivers for Alabama, Pittsburgh, CMP, NJ.

Howdy,

Just moved to Kent Island about a year ago from Sacramento. Raced SCCA, NASA and Lucky Dog in SF Region. Have no idea how to form metal but would love to help.

Re: Team Sputnik needs wrenchers/drivers in DC/Baltimore area

I'm up for driving at Pitts, NJ, NH and possibly Carolinas. I've done a couple dozen track days, Millville on a motorcycle, won a couple autocross and rallycross events, came in fourth in the Buffalo Hangover 150.

But my proudest driving moment was taking 2nd place for the season in the 2004 SCCA Rallycross Mid-Atlantic Stock2 class in a very horrible Hyundai Elantra. Dulles airport was renting them for 15 bucks a day over the weekend. Who was I to say no? Never buy a rental.

I'm in CT but if I don't need to be local, I'd love to do some lemon driving!

A Lemons Team in my backyard? I'd love to pitch in on the build and maintenance if you need a hand. I'm a shade tree mechanic but I can bring some tools and a willingness to read  the manual  I'd also be interested in driving some of those races if you have seats. I'm a novice at best with just a few track day s behind me but I'd try not to bend the car.  Thanks.

I live a couple exits up from 95 by 70/40.

Don't have a lot of driving experience, but I have worked on many cars as a shade tree. As far as metal working, I got the merit badge in Boy Scouts. I have used stud welders and slide hammers to get cars back on the road with salvage titles. I don't have welding experience, but I can easily make brackets with a vice and a torch. Also check out the Guinness Beer Garden!
