Topic: 24hours of Lemons announces $10 Million Nickle Prize

Today the legendary race series 24 Hours of Lemons announced it is awarding a prize of $10 Million Nickles to the first Lemons Team that can win Overall in a Lemons Race without any Drivers.

"Lemons racers should not be afraid of Self-Driving Cars" said John "Pay" Lamb.  "Self-driving cars are the future and we must embrace it".   Because of the no-fault rules for wrecks in Lemons, there is no issue when a self-driving car smashes into other cars during a race.   Self-driving cars will be inherently safer than those with drivers, as there is no driver to protect in the car.
They will be exempt from the full-cage and fire system requirements, seat belts and even seats.
Lemons is teaming up with RoboRace https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ucrh1XTR-bE  that will provide all the rules for driverless cars, since Lemons HQ has no clue about them

Longtime veteran Lemons racers have embraced the concept, indicating the $500 cost will be easier to acheive without all that safety gear, and with some Lemons drivers over 250lbs in beer guts,
the additional weight savings of driverless cars is significant.  "We all know drivers are the weak link", said multiple award winning Lemons racer "Spunk" Rangler.   "If I can eliiminate all the human errors I can go faster".  He also added that gone will be the days trying to find compatible teammates, many who bail out and don't pay up.

The recent OKStupid matchmaking service for teams and drivers will continue until all cars can become driverless.
