Topic: Sold!!! Nearly Ready to Race 1996 Geo Metro Bay Area

You guys have waited too long. We just pulled the fire suppression system to put into another car so the price reduction. Now that the car has proven to be a reliable and fun race car we have decided to move on. We have raced the last three Sonoma races. Other than self inflicted incidents ( black flags) we raced all day both days. We even won the Judge’s Choice Award at the Arse Freeze in December. We have swapped in the Suzuki G16 before the Arse Freeze and that really made things fun. Super light and quick. Passed tech in 2019.

You get a complete car for less than the cost of a good cage..

This should be a no-brainer for a new team wanting to jump into this thing with both feet.

Agree. If this was on the east coast I'd have bought it already.

Lots of people were disappointed that we didn’t race the car at Thunderhill. Someone can pick up the Geo torch for cheap

Alright we just removed the wings. Going to use them on another car. I thought some of you may be interested in what it costs us to race on any given weekend at Sonoma Raceway. Which is our frame of reference. Let’s start with gas. We start with a full tank (about 10 gallons) and use about 25 gallons the rest of the weekend.  Tires. We used the Azenis at about $105 each. We can get two races out of each set and you could probably stretch it to three. Brake pads. We use various manufacturers semi metallic at about $20 a set for the front and about $10 for the rear. Easily get two race out of them. We do change the oil after each race. It uses three and a half quarts and the oil filter is about $5.  All of the other parts we replaced were preventative. We wanted to make sure nothing would break at the track. It’s been a pretty successful strategy so far. This is a very economical way to jump into Lemons.
