Topic: What's better?

Document the build here or wait and surprise the world when we show up at the race?

Re: What's better?

We have done both and something in between.  Thought the "teaser" approach would be more fun.  Thought dropping it on the paddock uninformed would be fun.  Meh, kinda all the same in the end.  Those that care are totally excited regardless.

Re: What's better?

I like to surprise the world... mostly because I don't have to explain myself as much that way. Documenting the build means finding someone to take pictures... or stopping work to wash my hands to take the pictures... and then writing about what the plan is and where it is going and what got accomplished today.

And some of the internet is annoyingly strident in their misunderstanding of what is possible/right.

Depends on what motivates you more: Getting encouragement and advice and help from people when you're feel down, stuck, or otherwise knackered?
Or working through stuff on your own with the expectation that you'll come out the other end a better person by suffering in isolation.

Just know that Big Reveals don't always work out the way you want them to

Depends what it is....lol
Being first isn't so noteworthy, unless it really is something special,

btw, anyone race a subaru brat yet?   this is example of nothing special, but I might do it anyway.

Viva La Vulva won Org Choice at Chuckwalla in 2012 with the first appearance of a Brat.

OK, I'll go with a teaser:

BTW, is there a way to embed videos here? Using BBCode, it should be [youtube]R8t3Yyinof0[/youtube]. But that obviously doesn't work.

BMW E24?

Fourteen time loser. You'd think I'd know better by now.

Yup.

Too easy? Or did I let it slip in another thread?

It's a 1981 633CSi. The early 633's are based on the E-12 chassis, which dates back to the 70's. L-Jetronic injection. 5-speed; so, it's fun to drive but, um, ponderous is the word I'd use to describe the handling...

Our new team mate, Rachael, at the local autocross this weekend. She also painted the teeth on the bumper...

Re: What's better?

This is great. We'd be happy if all of the 3- and 5-Series BMWs in Lemons were replaced by 6-, 7-, and 8-Series.
