Re: Be a B.S. judge for a day & Guess my class

Ok Judge,

This is team "Bob Cant Drive"
Our number is "55"
For your consideration,  your honor, we have brought a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria.
This vehicle is bone stock, coming from a kindly old grandfather/ Vietnam vet who drove it to church and run errands.
It has no mods, stock suspension, v8 engine, and tires.

Our gift to the court harkens to its previous owner,  2 brand new MREs from our local Army surplus store.

We await your judgement

$500 my Ass!!!

a lethal overdose of brick wall, taken while under the influence of a Ferrari and a bottle of tequila.

Re: Be a B.S. judge for a day & Guess my class

really? you don't think it is a $500 car?
Honestly, I bought it for $500 off some guy who had it sitting in his back yard in a bunch of weeds
I think he was planning on rebuilding it, and gave up.
It has the carb engine in it, automatic,  but when running, it was spewing oil from under the car.
Maybe just screwed up attaching the oil pan, maybe something worse.
Either way, I'm swapping the fuel infected engine, tranny, and all the internal stuff, suspension, etc. from my previous 1987 Prelude that got squished in Jersey last year.

Re: Be a B.S. judge for a day & Guess my class

Judge Bob has decided the judgement on the first count:

On the matter of the $500 test,  we find the Defendant innocent.

On the second charge, we the jury find you guilty of a class B car.

But, due to extenuating circumstances, and on council from the friend of the court Don Julio,  the court will see fit to award you, one time, one one time only Class C.

You are free to go.

BAILIFF.   NEXT CASE!

Re: Be a B.S. judge for a day & Guess my class

Sherrif Justice.
The Honorable Judge Bob Robert has made judgement in the case of 1977 Dodge Monaco vs. Lemmons.

By the power vested in me by the  Montague courthouse, here in beautiful Portague County, in the Great State of Texas,
I find you guilty of producing a "CLASS C" Squad car.

Now you get that sorry excuse for a police cruiser,
You get that sorry excuse for a Deputy, "Junior"
And go get me that Dang Named BANDIT!!!

NOW GET OUTTA MY COURTROOM!!!!

BAILIFF.  BRING ME THE NEXT CASE!

Re: Be a B.S. judge for a day & Guess my class

This is sort of the working plan as of right now so I don't have actual prices compiled unfortunately.

-Team name undecided
-1967 AMC Rambler - $500 after some weird negotiating. (offering 400 and a 12 pack of cold beer didn't go over well with a recovering alcoholic)
-Engine and trans are junk (was hoping to save the ol' 199ci straight 6 but it would be a complete rebuild after deep diving into it)  so I'm throwing in a half ass running chevy 283 out of a '67 c10 I have laying around (haven't done the research yet to put any type of value on that)
-Will be throwing in a junk yard manual transmission. I figure a couple hundred +clutch assembly +driveshaft ($ tbd)
-The only "upgrades" I would like to add are possibly an oil cooler and better radiator (boxed) to hopefully allow this engine to survive for more than 37 minutes.
-Stock terrible suspension
-Probable disc brake conversion so that we don't kill someone with our blazing fast 200hp rambler.

I call that B class, it's a GM four banger even though it's pretty reliable. No ball of fire on the track and the trailing arm setup on a ZX is... Twitchy...
