Topic: The Terrible PRV V6

I know the DeLorean is not allowed due to the Doors. But has anyone run the terrible PRV V6 it uses in any other car? And if not, what's the stupid/awesomist thing to put a PRV V6 in?

My vote would be Viper Chassis.

The import shop I worked at in the late 90s charged an extra $10 per hour to work on Volvo’s with that engine, that says something,

What aside from Volvo 260/760 and Peugeot 604 had that engine here, anyway?

Re: The Terrible PRV V6

Other than the cams going flat, its only a mildly bad engine.  I think they came in the 505 too.  Seems like it also came in badge engineering Chrysler product.  A 604 turbodiesel 5 speed just might break my self imposed embargo on building any new Lemons cars.

No it's really bad, the Cylinders screwed in to the block so they were just free floating in the water jacket. Head gasket go Pffffffffft!

But a 604TD ain’t a PRV, innit?

Nope, it's not but it reminded me to take a look around to see if any are floating about.  Of all the shitty cars I've owned, that was the one I liked the most.  I've passed on a few PRV 604's because, PRV.

Re: The Terrible PRV V6

There's a Volvo 760 that runs a PRV on the East Coast. I put it in Class C because it had calcified remnants EVERYWHERE in the engine bay. I told them it'd last about an hour, but the MF ran at least two races and absolutely crushed Class C before it went kaput. When it blew up, they they got another one from a junkyard and have done at least two more races with it. Why they didn't swap in a Redblock or a 302, I don't have any idea, but it just chugs along.

There's no explaining that.
